The Old Vicarage was our choice for our ‘later in life’ wedding lunch party. Candy, Peter and the team were extremely accommodating with all the arrangements and gave some great advice to make the event go smoothly. Grazing boards with a few added extras were served to our 34 guest’s and thoroughly enjoyed. Many commented how it was a relaxed atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. We spent our wedding night in The Suite and all was perfect, comfortable and spacious and the breakfast continued to reflect the overall positive experience. Thank you for making our special day a day to remember.

Perfect in every way, from my welcome to my lovely room, to the wonderful food, both for dinner & breakfast. Loved the attention to detail like the vintage china used at breakfast. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Great location opposite the church but also quiet, it didn’t feel like it was in the middle of a town at all. Highly recommended.

Charming hotel and restaurant. The staff are all lovely, special shoutout to Rob and Jen who really looked after us. The rooms have bags of character and a real personal touch. We enjoyed pizzas from the outside pizza oven with a local beer as the sun set in the garden. What better way to spend an evening. They have a car park through the archway, if you have a larger car it’s best to reverse in. Thanks for a lovely stay 😊

A fabulous find. Quintessentially English hotel. Quirky interior, china teacups, lovely rooms and the staff so welcoming. Most definitely dog friendly. Little gifts for the dogs. My friend and I had steak for evening meal and it was lovely. Breakfast buffet and cooked to order hot meal. Lovely garden to enjoy Al fresco drinks. Sorry couldn’t stay longer. |Don’t miss this hotel it really is worth a visit.

What a lovely hotel. The room was lovely, the gardens were lovely, the owners an staff were excellent, the food was exceptional. Made a great fuss over our dog and supplied a pet kit for stay. Parking is tight but if your not very good there is on street.

Stayed a handful of times now and always a fantastic space to spend a lovely evening. Had pizza from the outside pizza oven and such a beautiful place to spend time with family. Breakfast the next morning was just want you want, tasty local produce and presented well and of course delicious and a good way to start the day. Room was spacious and comfy for me my wife and a baby. Can’t wait to come back

My son had a holder-offer day at Exeter University and so we decided to break up the trip after 3 hours by stopping in Bridgwater, leaving just under an hour to get to the Uni the next day. The Inn is easy to get to from the M5. On arrival, all the staff were friendly and helpful and responded to everything we needed from start to finish. We chose to eat in the restaurant in the evening and the food was beautifully cooked / fresh; gluten-free options available. The rooms and the showers were excellent, nicely decorated and there was a hairdryer in one of the rooms I could use. Breakfast, starting at 8.30am at the weekends, was beautifully cooked (fresh with no grease in sight), again gluten-free was effortless. There were options for cereal and extras you wouldn't get at another hotel in my opinion. The coffee was delicious! It is a gem, very reasonable priced; I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but had evening meal there with family who were overnight guests. The food was outstanding! Steaks cooked to our preferences exceptionally well. Staff were friendly and not overbearing. Would eat there again....and again. Lovely old building, lots of character.
