We haven't been to The Olde Peculiar for a few years, I remember having Theakson Mild, and they also had a Manns Brown Ale at the time but very happy they still have the Mild.
Today, we came in with friends for Sunday lunch, which, as we remember, was and still is beautiful. We all had roast beef with fresh vegetables, and all were so very tasty, and a side of pickled cabbage was an amazing compliment.
So then deciding on a sweet was hard, but I'll let the picture tell you the story. It was fantastic, to say the least.
A must visit during the week, specials board and a pie night, but Sunday lunch is definitely a must the staff are very friendly and helpful a credit to the pub.
So if you're looking for that country pub with excellent food pop in, you'll enjoy it.
Thank you.

This is the third time we have visited this lovely traditional pub whilst visiting family in the village. The easter Sunday Lunch was superb we all enjoyed every course. The pub was very busy and we didnt mind the wait as the quality of the food was worth it. Not many old pubs left like this anymore serving homemade food. The Pedigree was also yet again top notch. Such as shame some poor souls apparently waited all of 7 minutes for a drink. ?. Quality Food and drink at a fair price. The wait is worth it guys. Chill out. |We will be back.

Sunday lunch at The Pec. Food was excellent, service faultless. We love this pub, staff are friendly and work miracles with the tiniest of kitchens. A proper village pub which is hundreds of years old, can't wait for the better weather to use the beer garden again.

Friendly staff and possibly the best steak and kidney pie filling I’ve had, oozing flavour!
Great pint of pedigree too.
