Loved it!
We had an incredible stay in the Aubergine room – it was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and full of charm. The rustic setting and warm atmosphere of the pub made it even more special. Our stay included a seven-course tasting menu that was absolutely incredible, and the breakfast the next morning was just as amazing. The charm of the pub and the entire place is something photos simply can’t capture. We can’t recommend it enough!

5* for food, location, decor & ambience - 4* for service.
Food was fantastic, and it was good (if not better) than we had expected, based on both word of mouth and written reviews. Service was out of kilter with quality of food though. We arrived in advance of our reservation and whilst that was not a problem, there was quite a lot of confusion about where we should be seated and in the time before service started we weren't offered any drinks or nibbles (we had to ask for both). During the meal it was the same theme, we had to ask for more water and additional cutlery. Overall it felt as if the staff were more interested in chatting to each other than offering high level service.
*please note for the restaurant, this feedback is meant to be constructive.

Simply a fantastic culinary pleasure. The finest meal I've had in a very long time, hard to believe such quality nestled into a gorgeous rural location that's only a few minutes off the A1. Thank you to Andy and his superb team for making an ordinary dinner and overnight stay into something very special. Could not recommend more highly. Rob and Callie.

This is a gorgeous little place. We had a splendid Sunday roast there yesterday - delicious food and lovely friendly service. We aren’t local, so we’re now looking for an excuse to come back! Highly recommended.

Another wonderful dinner bed & breakfast stay at our favourite pub. The pub and dining areas are in an old and well renovated pub: exposed brick, small but connected rooms and good sized tables. Food is excellent, well beyond standard pub fare. An excellent choice of wines, beers and spirits.
Rooms are in a separate building across the road. To our mind they are a little fussy, with antique furniture and mirrors.
Superb breakfast capped another lovely treat to ourselves.
This is not a cheap option but quality of food, building and excellent service just about justify the cost for a special occasion.

This is a great restaurant. Reviews are justified. We had three courses each today, everything was extremely tasty and well cooked. Really delicious.

My mum had chicken liver parfait, a pork roast, and apple mille feuille. I had a prawn and lobster raviolo in a bisque, a chicken risotto, and the parfait. Bread at the start was fresh and warm.

Service was friendly and attentive.

I was a little worried about the gazebo booking, but they are tent-like, waterproof and had blankets and hot water bottles for colder days.

Overall it was a great experience and we will revisit.

Such a great experience at The Olive Branch. It was like going through a secret garden to find the entrance! And inside the decor is just beautiful. Lots of nooks and crannies, and a wine shop in a small nook along the corridor to the bar/restaurant. The service was fantastic. So warm and welcoming and they chatted to you and gave really good recommendations about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious 🤤 So glad we took the waiter’s suggestions. We were both torn on what to get and I was so delighted with my Monkfish and artichokes. The hispi cabbage with black garlic was incredible, as was the pecan tart and mascarpone ice cream. Such a great experience. Will be coming back for Sunday lunch asap!
