I had a great experience staying at The Orlando!

The room/space is comfortable with regular housekeeping and basic amenities like a TV, mini-fridge, kettle, Nespresso machine, tea and coffee pods, etc.

The location is really excellent -- very close to the train station and with excellent bus connectivity any time of the day, as well as many cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores in walking distance.

Communication with the host via email and text messages worked well, and they were very helpful with my requests.

I highly recommend The Orlando and would stay here again!

Hands down one the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed in: clean and spacious rooms, friendly owner and staff, superb location off the Cambridge Train Station, and a fully-stacked coffee and tea (including a Nespresso machine!!). A great bargain for the price!

The Orlando charged me full price for booking a room in the wrong country, tried to cancel it straight away but The Orlando have ignored me and booking.com? Should be ashamed of yourselves. Would rate 0 stars but that's not an option. Absolute daylight robbery.

I chose this hotel because it was at least half the price of a brand-name hotel and I had a very busy schedule so only need a place to sleep for 2 nights. I also chose it because of the other favourable reviews, and the name Orlando, because it's a great book by a superb author (nice choice, owners).||The other reviews here are absolutely correct: it's self-check in so there is no reception or other people anywhere, so you should be OK with that. I ran into an issue on the first night I needed to try a few times the door code, but it might be because the front door wasn't yet properly closed, who knows. I got in and it didn't happen again.||I was given the downstairs back-bedroom, so it was nice to avoid the small stairs with my suitcase, but I would have managed otherwise as it's good advice to never travel with luggage you cannot carry yourself up and down stairs (London and Paris subway taught me that). It was very very quiet and peaceful, so I got a good sleep.||The bathroom was very sparse but they did provide shampoo and soap. I couldn't find a hair dryer which was a negative. The towels were nice enough, and the water was hot.||The kettle and tea supplies were very welcome, with milk in the fridge and a bottle of water.||I'd stay again under similar circumstances. Given the high prices for accomodation in Cambridge, this place is a good deal. It's 3 mins walking from the train station and a gentle 25min stroll along the mail road into the centre, or take a bus or taxi. Tons of restaurants not far away on Mill Rd.

A slightly late review, however I stayed here with my partner for 1 night at the start of August and I would definitely stay again. Location of the hotel is close to the train station, so we got the bus into the town centre from near the train station which was convenient. Room was lovely and had everything we needed such as towels, coffee/tea making facilities, couple of hangers. The bed was comfortable and the||bathroom was nice and modern but the water pressure wasn't amazing. A great stay though ๐Ÿ™‚

I booked a room here very last minute. The owner provided detailed instructions to access the property by key code and I had no issues. The room was lovely and came with soap/shampoo and tea/coffee/water. The location is perfect, especially if you are arriving by train, as it is maybe 3 minutes away from the station. It is also an easy walk to the city center or to a quieter street of shops and restaurants. Everything was clean and the bed was comfy. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Me and my husband stayed here for one of our first dates a couple of years back. Itโ€™s a great location, rooms were clean and tidy. The only downside was the frosted glass toilets, but they wasnโ€™t too bad if youโ€™re comfortable around the person youโ€™re staying with!
