Heaven doesn't get better than this. Whether you're a Valheru Dragon Lord from Midkemia, an Aes Sedai from Tar Valon or a Hobbit from Middle Earth, The Other Place is a paradise fit for the greatest of geeks...the quiet atmosphere, relaxed decor, comfortable seating and soft lighting make it a utopia for every Ultramarine.

Entirely inclusive for all, for all are welcome here (including man's best friend), this cafe is an absolute wonderland for the weird, from Warhammer 40k to Dungeons and Dragons, they have a bookcase full of delightful fantasy and sci-fi literature as well as older more historical classics. It doesn't stop there either, did you forget your fancy multiple sided dice or a health potion? They're in the display case and readily available.

Alongside the pretty garden and outdoors space, this Shangri-la of Space Marines, boasts an impressive selection of bottled beers and other exotic libations, my personal favourite being the sparkling mead, seriously fit for Ragnar Lothbrok...the toilets are clean and in good repair. The food arrived piping hot to the table, is reasonable in price, portion size, variety and quality with a small but regularly changing menu.

An absolute Nirvana for Nerds, special mention should go to our hero Harry who puts mouthy blonde dragons in their place with sharp wit and quiet sarcasm, whilst simultaneously providing excellent service. And we do mean excellent, for points out of ten we're giving Harry an 11 for this son of the lion made our dining experience fit for the Emperor himself. The Other Place is a hidden gem amidst the quiet normality of Kirkcaldy and if you haven't been yet, then you had best grab your cloak and strap on your sword for this magical dining experience.

Great place for a relaxed time and absolutely fantastic coffee! I wish they'd be open to cover my lunch break so I could pop in for a cup now that kitchen treasury has closed and there's nowhere close for *great* coffee (other than roots&seeds, but that is quite a walk away!)

Should be busier than it is: food hits the spot; wide range of games; as well as ambient fantasy music. Overall, it was a lovely date night. We will be back 🙂

Lovely place, plenty of room, lots of games available (or bring your own), the 3 different rooms make it easy to find a quiet spot for your group. Staff is very friendly. I haven't had a chance to try the food this time, but I shall, next time.

Beautiful cafe with delicious food. Thoughtful selection of board games that are well looked after and a wide selection of terrain for Warhammer or D&D. Absolutely wonderful place to chill with friends and play whatever game takes our fancy.

Really lovely place for a well priced coffee. Had some mocktails too which were super delicious and great value for money. Had some fun playing board games too will definitely be back!
