Pavilion Arms was pretty disappointing. We brought our two dogs along and asked for a couple of sausages for them at breakfast. Not long after, they got super sick—shaking, vomiting, and just miserable all night. It honestly felt like the food was rotten, which was really upsetting. To top it off, one of our own meals even had eggshells in it. Definitely not what we expected.

The room itself wasn’t great either. It looked nothing like the photos online. The carpet was stained, there was mold on the curtains, and the cups hadn’t been properly cleaned, still showing residue from previous guests. We didn’t bring these issues up, but the staff was really nice and welcoming throughout our stay.

Overall, even though the staff was great, the room issues, food quality, and seeing our dogs suffer made it hard to enjoy our time here. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable stay.

Can't comment about the hotel as only eaten in the restaurant. Lovely warm and welcoming pub and restaurant. Food has always been good each time we've visited. Last visit we were warned food was taking a while while the chef was getting used to the new menu. However, we were not waiting unreasonably long for food, it arrived when I would expect it to. I ordered venison last time which was lovely though a little overcooked but I wasn't asked how I like it. I would've said medium rare and it was served medium. I'm sure if I'd been asked, it would've been cooked accordingly. It was still very nice and was complimented with parsley mash and roasted celeriac and the sweetness of a soused pear worked beautifully with the venison. The red wine jus finished it off perfectly. My husband was very happy with his chicken and leek pie of the week. My only real criticism is we've been about 4 times and the wine we wanted from the wine list hasn't been available about 3 of the times.

The pub / hotel is in a really great location for access via car or walking to Bournemouth centre, 1.2km away or to get to Poole or restaurants a 5-10 min walk away depending on choice.
The staff a really helpful and great with our 5 year old, either at breakfast or dinner. They are all very friendly, easy to engage with and make you feel comfortable and create a good environment.
The food is really good and great in value. Kids meals great size for dinner and lots of choice. The breakfast sets you up well for the day.
The room was nice and had lots of room to move around. Great to have your own kitchen area. The sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable (flat) and fall into the middle but our son loved it.
A shout out to Richard and Noah they were lovely with our son and easy to talk to. They made the stay that extra bit lovely and we will definitely come back.

Popped in for breakfast not knowing it was more of a hotel than pub. Lots of space inside and a good sized car park.

Full English was decent although I think possibly a few quid too much. Saying that, sourdough bread was excellent, good sized sausage and great fried egg. Pan au chocolate was also good and cappuccino was very good.

Helpful service. Would recommend

My husband and I stayed a couple of nights midweek for our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was nice, although probably not sure it is worth the £170 a night what we paid. Being August the room was a bit hot but it was clean and the bathroom was fine albeit a bit on the small side. There was a big rubber plant in the corner of the bedroom but was very dusty. Just something else for housekeeping to do so I would not have it there at all.|Found the drinks too expensive. 2 large glasses of wine £21 so spending £40 before you've even had dinner was a tad expensive. I see the same wine online and you can buy a bottle for £10. |Breakfast was very nice. |The outside area was nice but could have done with a tidy up., leaves swept up etc. The next morning the tables seemed to have mounds of cigarette ash on them which should have been cleaned before guests got up. |Some staff seemed to be dressed in cargo shorts and trainers and perhaps more effort could have been made there. |It is pleasant enough but just needs a bit more effort in places to make it better. Overall though the food and drink is too expensive for what you get which is a shame but that seems to be everywhere in Bournemouth sadly with the exception of Wetherspoons.

Truly amazing venue. We have stayed with Pavilion 2 night and must say that experience was exceptional. Wonderful team has looked after us beyond our expectation. We will be back definitely this year again. Thank you to Chris, Richard and lovely manager in glasses!

Staff & food great & lovely hotel. Only downside was fridge & cold tap wasn't working, we had to use the shower water to brush our teeth the following morning, reported both but unfortunately they couldn't fix the fridge got offered a bucket of ice for the milk but the milk went off. Also after our meal on the first evening, the food was excellent but it was the bill at the end, l asked if it could be put on our room & was told yes & then the following day it was taken out of my bank without me having a receipt, to when we got back to the hotel to ask for the bill to find you added a service charge to which I asked for it to be refunded as you didn't offer us discount on our meal after most of the facilities not working in our room. Also wasn't happy with our view, bins with the noise from staff putting rubbish in them & busy main road
