Two nights here during the Goodwood Revival and we had a perfect stay in the Chicken Shack. Really large .comfortable room with good facilities , bath , shower etc. and separate loo.|Hotel staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Lovely choices for breakfast and dinner, mostly local produce - the best pork ever |Do not expect glitz here, its , quirky, rustic and full of charm but homely and very comfortable . Gluten free is not a problem.

We had an incredible time at the Pig. Staff couldn’t have been better - friendly, helpful, and were kind enough to give us an upgrade as our stay was a surprise for my husband’s 50th. The food was incredible- both dinner and breakfast and the room with roll top bath and gorgeous shower were fab. But best of all is the beautiful architecture, interiors and grounds. We felt very lucky indeed!

Sumptuous surroundings, superbly cooked locally produced food, served by knowledgeable young and interesting young staff, what's not to like? It’s probably 10 years since we first visited a Pig. That was good but the team behind this chain has continued to build on an excellent start. If you speak to the staff they all say how much they enjoy working there. From Gracie our bubbly young waitress to Sandro our Knowledgeable barman they all look as if they are having a ball while helping you to as well.|The building follows the usual Pig pattern, big country house rooms, shabby chic but comfy furniture and a restaurant with views to die for across the South Downs. We stayed in Gracie's Shed, a very comfy and well appointed cabin within a stone's throw of the front door of the main house. There are other cabins in the walled garden which yields much of the locally grown produce.

Visited for Sunday lunch and it was an outstanding experience. The approach via a beautiful country lane and the building itself created a high expectation which was fulfilled.
We both had a main course of venison which was faultless. It is expensive but for a special occasion, worth it. Speedy service from attentive and friendly staff as well!

Heard great things but wasn’t overly impressed. We were on a table which felt like a corridor with people going in and out, the sun was beating down but they couldn’t shut the blinds as they would cover a door to the patio so we swapped seats a few times so as not to get so hot. A few of us had hake and the difference in sizes were amazing, one was double than what the others got, it came with some butternut squash and at around £26 I felt that very over priced. A few had pork and again the difference in sizes were amazing! Wouldn’t go again, shame as the setting and the gardens were lovely. The waitress we had was lovely.

I love this Pig, such a gorgeous setting and lovely atmosphere. The staff are great and rooms are lovely. I do feel that since The Pig hotels have been sold on from their original owners some little touches have been dropped, such as freshly baked biscuits in the room on arrival, however the prices have shot up from what they used to be.
The reason for not giving 5 stars is lack of facilities such as a pool and dinner although nice can sometimes be a bit average. But overall I love staying here and it’s a wonderful place to go.

First time visit for Sunday lunch. Busy and lively which is great. Service was good, although I had to chase up my drinks order after 30 minutes. I was told by my server she had removed it from the bill, but when I came to pay, it was still there but a coffee was missing. I didn't bother trying to correct it. The food is excellent. Sensible portions, locally sourced, well cooked. Definitely would go back. Price wise it was as expected, 1 starter £5, 3 main courses £81, 1 side £5.50, 3 desserts £28.50, 1 coffee £4.50, bottle of wine £40 and 2 soft drinks £8. Service is then included at 12.5%

Stunning location the grounds and building itself are beautiful. Loved walking round the kitchen gardens as well. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the cocktails were delish too.
