The staff are friendly, attentive, and contribute to the efficient service. It is highly recommended to reserve a table in advance through Google, particularly during peak hours.

After the pub being closed for so long it is so lovely to see it back open under new management. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and attentive. The pub has been redecorated beautifully with a traditional gastro pub feel to it, also plenty of space for outdoor drinking and dining, and space for kids to play.

Another great lunch at the Piltdown man! Food was great as usual I had possibly the best quinoa salad I have ever eaten. Really nicely presented & perfect portion size. We really enjoyed the garden party and live music too! 🙂

We held a celebration here on Saturday afternoon and had a fantastic experience. The staff and owners were incredibly accommodating, offering excellent customer service throughout. The food was beautifully prepared and presented with real care and attention to detail. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with plenty of parking and a lovely outdoor area for children, perfect for keeping both kids and adults happy. Huge thanks to the team for all your effort and hospitality and will return very soon!

A well decorated rustic pub, the staff were friendly and willing to accommodate our large group size. The atmosphere was good and the surroundings beautiful, with an outdoor play area to keep the children happy and ample parking.

Food took a little while to arrive, but I suspect that was more due to our group size than any fault of theirs, but was good. The meal came out slightly cheaper than I would expect for a pub meal so I have no complaints. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the area.

Nice buzz to the place at lunchtime today.

We had a nice pint and some very nice Thai fish cakes and a delicious and very aromatic chicken curry. Portions wee generous enough for our light lunch and they offered bread and olives. The fries were nice too and the calamari was respectable.

Service was very friendly and quite efficient.

Went along for the first day opening. Very friendly, lovely decor inside but outside definitely rushed.

We ordered 3 starters to share which were delicious. Calamari nice and tender as was the slices of beef on the bruschetta. Looking forward to going back!

Monday evening dining is hard to find locally as a lot of establishments do not serve food on Mondays.

The Piltdown Man does.
I opted for the 10oz Sirloin. I was pleasantly surprised. Cooked as requested, presented nicely. The aparagus and cherry tomato side was delicious also. I thought the steak was very good value and competitively priced.

Only negative was the peppercorn sauce.
It was more bland than a magnolia house. No body, no flavour, and no peppercorns. Really dissapointing. Find a better recipe guys.

Beautiful environment which was reasonably busy but not overcrowded. Harvey Best Bitter was on par.

I will be back once the sauce issue has been addressed.
