This was pretty much the cheapest stay I could find in the south of England.

It isn't the nicest place ever but it definitely isn't the worst. If you're looking at this place then you're probably looking for a place where you'll crash at night, grab a morning shower and be out and about all day. This hotel ticks the boxes.

It's baffling to see so many negative reviews for what is one of the cheapest places to stay. Yes it's quite small, for me it's cosy. The bathroom is not up to par with the Ritz and the beds are a little soft but who cares? You're warm and dry and in relative comfort.

If you expect luxury at this price there is something wrong with you, those leaving bad reviews should go pay ÂŖ300 a night at the Hilton and quit moaning.

My room was around ÂŖ40 and with that I got breakfast included and off street parking. Room even had a small fridge!

Staff member was brilliant. Really friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

This was the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. |The cleaning must have been non existent for many years, ceiling falling in in the shower, very out of date electrical testing (years out) and walls paper thin (can hear any conversations from next room). |When I cancelled a second stay (already booked) for the above reasons, no refund or even a response to emails. |I understand this is a budget property, but there are still standards that should be met.

Avoid at all costs, this is not a fit place to stay, unless you like filthy toilets and mouldy bathrooms, filthy broken windows, stained carpets and stained lamp shades. The booking confirmation advised us of their enhanced cleaning and hygiene standards, I'd hate to see it before the enhancement. We left after 10 minutes, which we spent taking photos for our complaint.

Great service! The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable. Great value place to stay. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is because of the very narrow junction to car park where my car almost got stuck. The receptionist was helpful, though in helping with my car. The guests who stayed at this accommodation at the time were talking loudly into the early hours of the morning, which is not the hotels fault. Just a shame that the guests lacked consideration for other guests. This does not reflect on hotel however who were friendly and welcoming.

It was shocking. The only good thing going for it was the man who worked there. He was lovely and helped us locate the place. The place however, was absolutely disgusting. It was filthy and absolutely grim. The toilet was all brown, the air vent in the shower was filthy, the shower ended up becoming a bath in the space of 2 minutes, anything we put on the side tables, slid back off because nothing was level. The window had a huge crack in it so we couldn't close it. There was stains on the bed sheets. A toaster would've been comfier to sleep on. Overall it was a disaster. I don't recommend staying here unless you want to catch aids from the room.

Lovely wee place to stay. A friend and I were in town for a tournament last minute and needed a place to stay, The Pines was available and affordable so we booked.
When we arrived the person at the front desk showed us to our room & helped carry my bag up, very thoughtful. The room was a good size, warm, & had a mini fridge which was great. The bed was very comfortable.
If I'm back in the area in future I'll definitely stay again.

Cheap accommodation in comparison to other local accommodation. The guy on reception was friendly and helpful. The bedding was clean and fresh and the bed very comfy.....however....the whole place was VERY tired looking and in need of at thourough deep clean, update and many repairs throughout. Parking may be an issue for some. Walking distance to town centre.
