We stayed in what was called the deluxe king suite. This cannot be described as deluxe. On first impression looked okay but that soon changed. The bedroom and bathroom were large but lacked the basics i,e a wardrobe to hang clothes properly. Had to use hooks on the back of the door. The shower did not work properly and having read a previous review this has not been addressed since July. A full length mirror would have been helpful. There wasn’t a mirror near a wall socket so I had to improvise by placing the waste basket on the set of drawers beside the bed, where there was a socket placing a cork mat across the top(which I took with me) on which I could place the fortunately moveable shaving mirror from the bathroom. There were teabags and coffee with a water boiler but no milk, had to go and ask for it and only 2 tea bags provided. This suite cannot be described as a suite as no proper seating area. The room was priced at £319 for 2 nights and in my opinion should have been half that. There was a TV but you could not access proper tv programmes only internet stuff. The Travelodge we stayed in en route to this pub had better amenities and facilities. On a positive note we had a very good meal in the pub on our first night, a real shame the accommodation didn’t come up to the same standard. I will be complaining to Booking.com which is where I made the booking and ask for a partial refund.

Maybe next Christmas try updating your booking system to let customers know you’re closed on Christmas Day.

That way you won’t turn away customers with valid reservations for Christmas lunch, leaving them with absolutely bugger all other options but to go home and eat satsumas.

I will never set foot in either of your places again.

Merry Christmas.

Style before substance. Booked three rooms. Good welcome. Room looks nice but shower does not work and we see that this was raised months ago in another review but nothing appears to have changed. Comfy bed but tea and coffee facilities useless. Only two tea bags and despite two night stay they were never renewed. Since we were out all day and no one around until after 9.30 it is impossible to speak to anyone. Bath large but plug is in middle do if you sit in the bath the plug empties the water. No full length mirror. Small dressing table space with a mirror but no where to plug in a hair dryer. No hanging space for long dress etc . Toilet seat in friends room (Bewl) loose and dangerous. Evening food ok but breakfast was not available til after 9.30. Did try and have it on second morning to be told only egg on toast available. No fruit juice etc.
we stay in around ten pubs every year. This has to be the worst. Looks nice but looks are deceiving.

On Sundays, a Sunday Roast is offered (£21) a choice of beef or pork belly. We chose the former which was thinly sliced but very tender, accompanied by six vegetables, all hot and freshly cooked, including cauliflower cheese. Only gripe was regarding the Yorkshire pudding which was a very good size but was a bit on the tough size. The staff were in good form and a visit to the place should not disappoint.

Let's recognise this is not a hotel but a pub with rooms, so reception is at the bar. Our room was comfortable with a large bathroom with double sink, walk in shower and freestanding bath. Unfortunately the shower didn't work properly and the sliding doors between the bedroom and bathroom groaned and squeaked mercilessly, not conducive to occupants' sleeping. I reported both these to the poor overworked young man who seemed to be responsible for running everything, but they were not improved. Breakfast was available in the pub, which smelt of beer. choice was limited to a course of fruit and granola or a basic cooked breakfast.|There are car parks on either side of the pub with restrictions, but no special pub parking and Wadhurst is a traffic bottleneck. We did get a slight reduction because of the problems and a free drink, but I have stayed in vastly superior hotels for the price charged, which was more than if we had booked through a booking agency. The White Hart is not recommended apart from as a pub.

A truly incredible stay - we stayed in the Hart Suite. A wonderful big bath, maybe one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever stayed in at a hotel. And to top it off a very tasty breakfast included the next morning! I couldn’t recommend the White Hart more - 10/10.
