"First time I have been was in pressed with the menu there was so much to choose from, plenty of gluten free options which was good, really enjoyed my food, went on a Friday so was busy I hadn't booked but their was only two of us so wasn't a problem but it probably would be best to book. Staff were nice, will be going back.

Brilliant food really good portion staff are friendly we ordered two meals and a starter couldn't finish it off so we got a doggy bag for later 😁."

Dropped in on Sunday the 21st of July for some dinner. We waited quite a while at the door to be offered a table which isn’t the best but it was moderately busy so that’s not an issue. We were seated at quite a strange table, the legs were too close together so you have to sort of uncomfortably straddle the table with one leg between the table legs and the other outside. We went for 2 topside beef dinners a Diet Coke and an orange and water, it came to £29.85. The dinner was okay nothing to write home about and the vegetable selection was bland and left a lot to be desired. Now onto my gripe which pushed me to write this review, I had a hankering for chocolate fudge cake after my dinner. So after our plates were taken away we sat and waited and waited for anyone to come and ask if we wanted anymore drinks or a dessert menu etc… no one came. My partner had to ask if there was a menu available and we got told it was on a board next the bar. Why? Would it kill you to print off a dozen desert menus to save people have to get up and awkwardly scan through a desert menu which is on the wall right next to a table full of customers. In the end we decided to not have a desert and just to leave and most likely never return. Next time I will definitely just go to the mill house down the road it’s far better in my opinion. AP x

I had an incredibly satisfying meal during my visit here and would highly recommend the dirty Philadelphia Fries and the toffee stacker dessert.

This charming pub and restaurant boasts a lovely and clean facility, situated conveniently right next to the train track, providing entertainment for both children and adults.

Awful meal here this evening. Waiter asked if everything was OK and my wife replied "no it's disgusting"... Not a single word from the waiter, he just turned on his heel and disappeared. Never saw him again. Disgraceful really. Service for drinks and food very slow too.
Edit: The owner responded but clearly has no idea what happened, only what the staff told them which is incorrect, but hey why let the truth spoil a story eh.
The meal was poor and the wait was long. My wife ate the food because she'd been to work all day and was hungry. Been better off with a microwave meal from Iceland. Awful from start to finish and the owners response says all you need to know. Classless

A lovely Tuesday afternoon treat for Mrs Wilsons birthday,
Very large portions, Mrs Wilson took half her dinner home.
Make a great cold-warmed-up for tomorrow's dinner

My favourite pub! Great food, big portion sizes. Ask for a stacker steak (sirloin with bbq sauce, bacon, and melted cheese topping!). The tattie skins are another favourite 🙂
