We travelled here from South Tyneside for a surprise 50th birthday party. We stayed for 2 nights, and this is a lovely to visit and stay.|Checking in was very fast and convenient and we were shown to our room not just given keys and directed to it.|The room was very clean and cosy, with coffee and tea making facilities. Bathroom was very clean and a fair size as well.||Upon checking in, we went into the pub and the welcome from the staff was lovely. Beer was very nice and the meal we had was delicious. Ella the barmaid was so friendly and has a very infectious smile.||We highly recommend this place.

Really nice place to stay, eat and drink. Dog friendly. Gluten free choices. Set us up a nice table in the bar for breakfast so we could have the dog with us. Sarah and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Realty peaceful and amazing countryside on your doorstep. Would definitely go back again.

2 nights staying here, as attending nearby wedding.|Oh So Memorable, but where to start?||PROS|Comfortable suite, ok bed (adequate linen), good hot water, clean enough (could do with a deep clean, ie removing the dead flies squshed into the window frame), quiet so slept well||CONS|Complete lack of ambiance - the bar was deserted, apart from 3 locals who sat at the bar - we were alone on a Friday night.|Over an hour's wait ("not enough electricity in the kitchen"?) I got my tasteless & badly cooked Fish & Chips.|Himself's lamb chop with mint (ÂŖ21) was that weird combination of overcooked meat and underdone veg. Lamb with mint flavouring.||It was ABYSMAL and ÂŖ120 (with wine) extremely overpriced.|We were sent to bed at 10 pm, as they were closing.||Breakfast was skimpy, served 8:30-9:30.||Quite fancied a bloody mary before heading off the wedding on Saturday, but the bar was closed.||A deeply unsatisfactory stay.

Room was infested with flies, which the staff knew about, but still let us stay there. The only solution was a can of flyspray. Very unpleasant atmosphere . Also no refund or subsequent communication. I hope their hygiene improves
