We stayed at the Poplars in November 2024 for a weekend and had a lovely time. Everyone we spoke to was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was great, had everything we needed, very clean, and the tea selection was a lovely touch and so nice. Location was great, very walkable, and finding the B&B was nice and simple. Breakfast was great, there were so many options and all of them fantastic. Would definitely recommend staying here when in Lincoln.

We had a great nights stay here during our visit to Lincoln. The location is perfect - right by the Castle and Cathedral and a short walk to the town centre. Our room was warm, quiet, had a great view, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were greeted by a warm welcome with lots of information and the breakfast was fantastic with all dietary requirements catered for - the vegan breakfast I had was one of the best I've had anywhere!

Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Beautiful b and b 5 minutes walk to Lincoln cathedral and castle up a hill and 5 minutes to more modern Lincoln Town centre down a hill. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable and clean with panoramic view of city and sky so we saw some incredible sunrises and sunsets. All staff friendly, professional and helpful with local knowledge. Superb location for visiting Lincoln cathedral, castle and shops on Steep Hill and Great pubs and restaurants. Very comfortable big bed. Smart bathroom with good shower. Delicious breakfast cooked and continental. And lots of environmental systems in place very thoughtfully. Lights on timers, recycling bin in room, locally sourced food and toiletries all in recycled brown victorian glass refillable bottles, compostable tea bags, even locally made crockery and cutlery. They are certainly doing their best here. Highly recommended b and b.

Stayed here on a 2 night break and the place is lovely with great original features throughout . Our room on the top floor has been modernised and with high pitched ceiling and large window made this very open and airy. Staff were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Although I love a cooked breakfast this was extra but to be honest the continual offering was superb. Finally, the walk to the cathedral and castle were minutes away which started our day and ended around the river area. Overall, a lovely little place and as the owners said, it’s been a working project but it’s quirky and quaint. Will be staying here again and thanks again for the lovely stay and hospitality.

A beautiful little B&B in a perfect location. Spotlessly clean and the staff were fabulous and friendly. The breakfast was the best we have ever had in a B&B, so much choice, and cooked exactly to your preferences. Would highly recommend and would most definitely return!! Thank you for a fantastic 2 night stay!

Lovely bed and breakfast located a short walk from the castle and cathedral. We stayed for two nights and breakfast was included and we had onsite parking.|We were welcomed by Martin and parked up and showed to our room, the room had a very large bed and was decorated with period furniture to match the building, that included a tv and complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge with a supply of beer and ginger ale and fruit juice and chocolate ( for an extra fee) the bathroom was adjacent to the bedroom and included hand towels and bath towels, and complimentary shower soap and shampoo and conditioner and hand soap,.|We used the location to visit the local sites, and in the evening we walked to the top part of the city to find somewhere to eat, there are plenty of eateries within walking distance and we had a walk around to see what was available and saw both the castle and cathedral lit up, and it looked lovely, on returning we made our self’s comfortable, the bed was amazing and we slept well, the tea and coffee facilities were great as they were artisan tea bags with around 8 different flavours to choose from, we went down for breakfast and Bo was there to Wellcome us and sort out what we had ordered from the menu, nothing was too much trouble and we had an amazing stay whilst in Lincoln, we would use the poplars again if we we visited the city, lovely friendly staff and owners who went above and beyond to make you wellcome.

What a superb place to stay, a well run beautifully decorated hotel with all the little extras you do not get with the big chains.|Warm and comfortable well maintained. The food was excellent and plenty of it also locally sourced . Just a tip ,if you book direct with the hotels web site breakfast is |included in the room rate. We will be coming back sometime in the future and will be recommending it to everyone we know.|Even the very steep drive way is not a problem if you take your time negotiating it.

Lovely place in a great location. |Very warm welcome, on arrival. Shown around and up to our room. Super king bed, lovely bathroom, everything you could need. An amazing view too. |The whole place is very clean. |A couple of minor downsides that may or may not bother you. It’s is in a fantastic location at the top end of the city, very close to both the castle and cathedral, however if you have any mobility issues it is a problem as there is no avoiding quite steep gradients. Going up to the castle and cathedral you have quite a steep 100 yards to negotiate. Down to the new shopping side where the canal is you have a lot further and very steep hill, aptly named ‘steep hill’. |The other thing that was a minor down side for us was the breakfast room. You sit at the same table with other guests in a silent room. Separate tables and some low key music would make it a lot better, it just made us feel very uncomfortable. Parking is also very tight if you are a nervous driver. |The negatives are far outweighed by how lovely the place is and its location and we would definitely stay again. Lincoln and the poplars are lovely lovely places.
