Stayed recently for a couple of nights. Opted for larger room which was very well appointed. it’s was bright, airy, warm with good quality furnishings and a lovely comfortable bed. Exceptionally clean. Nice view towards the hills too. Two easy chairs in the room which you rarely find. Hair dryer and straighteners provided too. |On arrival the staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. |We had 2 evening meals. The food was very good, nicely cooked and presented. The only downside were the cooked breakfasts, which although excellent were additional to the B&B rate. The rate only includes continental breakfast of which we, from experience of staying in inns and hotels was a poor offering. That could have been much better with more choice. |The Queens Arms is well located for Somerset, East Devon and Dorset. The pub is reached by narrow lanes. |I would stay here again. |Nearby Fleet Air Arm museum us with a visit.

It's very easy to get lost navigating the narrow lanes around the Dorset / Somerset border, which is how we stumbled across The Queens Arms. We were really only looking for a quick pub grub stop, so this wasn't the ideal 'find'. Having said that the spacious dining area is lovely and no doubt comes into its own in the winter evenings with the roaring fire. We chose a couple of light bites from the lunch menu, which were good and we would definitely go back to try the full fine dining menu for a special occasion.

Family Christmas lunch was disappointing. When we arrived to have drinks and chat 45 mins before our table booking we were told to either sit down at our table or move away from the bar. We weren’t politely asked but abruptly told!! This was within the first 10 mins. Not a great start. We had to pre order our lunch because we were over 8 people which we did and was absolutely fine. Part of our order was for the chicken, leek and tarragon pies. What we actually got was chicken and mushroom pies. None of us wanted chicken and mushroom! Jolly good job no one was allergic to mushrooms. We asked one of the staff what happened and she
 again
abruptly told us it WAS the chicken and leek! I’m sorry but don’t insult a table full of cooks! I wish I had taken a photo of the inside of the pie. ||||I will say our table waitress was very good. However the bar girl and front of house definitely need a lesson in being hospitable.||||Not sure we would make the effort to drive down and visit again.

A stunning destination pub. The attention to detail from decor, to table settings to candles are spot on. Staff are top quality too. |While it’s a fine dining pub, it’s not lost focus on being a pub for local drinkers as well. Daily newspapers, open fires, cosy corners. ||We’ve also stayed in the pub previously. Our room was superb quality from bedding to fittings. ||Hats off to the owners!

Had a wonderful evening meal in a group of 14. In a lovely side room setting with a roaring fire.
The staff were very attentive and focussed on our enjoyment.
Great food, well presented. I also really valued the quality of the table cloth, napkins and cutlery. Looking forward to eating here again

Eight of us enjoyed food from the festive menu. Every element was absolutely delicious, with a good selection of freshly cooked vegetables. The chef was flexible as two of our party were delayed. The members of staff were attentive so we were looked after very well and can’t wait to go back.

What a fantastic place! Jess you were an amazing host ! The food was outstanding and the rooms were beautiful. We travel and eat out a lot! This was a real gem and we can’t wait to visit again. Cosy fire, beautiful decor but the food! What a joy to find such an outstanding menu less than an hour from home. Thank you x

The Queen’s Arms in Corton Denham is a charming pub—great beer, fantastic food (when it arrives), and a barman who was absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the head waitress, who let the side down in spectacular fashion.

We ordered food at 10 past 8, and my steak didn’t arrive until 9.30. By then, I’d eaten so much bread to fill the void I was worried I’d have to roll myself home. When I politely raised the delay, she wasn’t having any of it. No apology, no acknowledgment—just denial. And when I suggested we shouldn’t have to pay, she flat-out refused. Denial isn’t just a river in Africa, it seems—it’s also on the menu here.

Even though this was a poor experience, the Queen’s Arms is still a fantastic place, and I’ll be back. It’s a lovely pub with a lot to offer, and I look forward to giving it another chance and hopefully enjoying the meal it’s clearly capable of serving.
