Very friendly and welcoming. On a street with three other boozers. Didn't sell ales, but recommended one down the road. Nice little convenience store in pub, which was useful as we travelled along Hadrian's wall. Room was fine, spot on. Nothing glam, but it was exactly what we wanted and needed.

Small comfortable basic room with private toilet and shower, including an TV, kettle, small fridge and microwave.
Breakfast consists of milk, orange juice and a yogurt in the fridge a croissant and a selection of cereals good value for what they charge. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

This was so bad we did not stay and went home a day early. The room was located above a seedy looking pub which looked as if it had not be decorated for many years. The room was approached by a dingy staircase with a brown nylon carpet which did not look clean. The bedroom was dated but the bed looked clean and firm with plenty of towels. The shower had black mildew in the grouting and was in serious need of decoration and modernisation. The final straw was the toilet which would only flush if we climbed on the seat and pulled the chain from the top. This was not a Victorian cast iron toilet. It was circa 1960s plastic and shabby. When I asked about breakfast I was told that they hadn't done food since the pandemic. We booked a hotel in Hexham and all the documentation said Hexham but it is in Acomb which is 4 miles from Hexham.

Perfect for a short solo stay! I travelled up for a race along Hadrian's wall so needed somewhere local to stay the night before, and The Queen's Arms fit the bill perfectly. Check-in (and back out) was completely self-service - I didn't actually see any staff during my entire stay, but their numbers were provided had I needed any assistance. The room was light and airy, and had all the basic facilities plus handy extras like a fridge and microwave. The bed was comfy, and while I'd seen some negative reviews about noise from the pub downstairs, I always sleep in earplugs and once these were in I wasn't disturbed at all, despite being there on a busy Saturday night. For the price and convenient location (<10mins from Hexham in the car), this was the ideal basecamp for my visit to the area.

Friendly staff but that’s the only Positive unfortunately. One night was enough! Arguing and carrying ons in pub until midnight even though quiet time is 10pm til 7am. Room and bathroom was tiny dirty and in need of serious updating and repair. Clearly no investment in the business. Checked out and saw room opposite was occupied by someone who had just crashed there door held open by a shoe and a pair of discarded undies on the floor. Pretty unpleasant stay really. I would suggest that recent reviews on Booking etc are fabricated. My advice would be to find somewhere better in Hexam

Picked this place as it was affordable and close to both Hexham, Hadrian's Wall, and Stonehaugh. Vikki, who runs the place, is very nice as is everyone who works here.

Keep in mind this is an old building. There are no air vents, no circulation, etc and it can get very stuffy in the bedrooms. Opening the windows helps, but bugs do find out easy access.

Also to keep in mind is this is a working pub. Great beer, pool, and fun locals. But it also means you may hear the people downstairs while you try to sleep.

They have a little "general store" to purchase foodstuffs for both you and your 4 legged friends.

The room comes with coffee, tea, and milk. A fridge with a tiny freezer bracket and a good microwave. The rooms vary in size, bed size, bathtub vs shower, etc but all have a private bath en suite.

I was in room 6 for a few days and it was pleasant, however that particular room has a glass window near the ceiling in the bathroom that lets in all the light from the stairwell on the other side of the wall. It needs to be painted or at least covered. A simple enough thing.

Trying to sleep while people were smoking and playing music just outside and downstairs in their courtyard was a bit frustrating, and I did have to buy a small fan, but it was very pleasant overall!
