It was my first time in Dawlish on Sunday. I am a lady of 64 year's and I and my little dog Billy lost my family on a day out. I had recently hurt my ribs and was on really strong medication. I ended up getting lost and drunk and had been crying for 3 hours. The lovely Landlord and his lovely wife took me in. They made me feel safe, was caring, I was made to feel welcome.|I met there beautiful daughter and her brilliant little son/ grandson. Billy loved him too because he went on a few walks.|Thank you for making me welcome and for looking after me and making me feel very safe. If you didn't take me in I don't know what would have happened.|Thank you so much, I wanted to say goodbye but I was really embarrassed.|I stayed in room 2. It was clean and had tea coffee. I just had the |2 bottles of water that was there. Shower and Toilets were clean too. The room was really great value the landlady and landlord reduced the price of the room too. Which I am really greatfull for.|The locals were friendly and made me at ease.|I would recommend any body with there family. Or on your own destitute like I was. |You don't go and stay in a pub if you want a quiet night. I have no complaints at all and slept comfortably and secure.|Thank you again I really can't thank you enough. I really did appreciate what you did for me.

Negatives: Loud music until 11.00, no mention was made when booking. Room 5 has no ventilation.

Positives: Room 3 was clean, comfortable bed and window that opened. Toilets were clean. Wash basin in room was clean.

If you want a room in Dawlish and don't mind loud noise this is an ok option. Good location for the station, high street and sea.

Will not be returning.

Positives: clean room, comfortable beds. Sink in most rooms. Tea and coffeeaking facilities.|Negatives: very loud music until after 11pm from the pub until late.|Room 4 has no ventilation and very little head room.|If the venue had mentioned the loud music we could have made a choice. The review would then be 3/5

Terrible place, don't go here! I could literally feel the extremely loud music in my bed. At 10pm I asked how long that would still last. Reply: "Are you in room 1? Until midnight", smiling. Then I booked a room in a different hotel for that night.
On top of that: asking 60 pounds for not a good bed in a very small room and a shared camping shower that was not clean, is already way too much. But not caring about your guests' sleep is the most terrible service I've ever had.

Bed head held together with string.
On the last morning, there was no hot water (as in no water at all) in bedroom or lavatory.
Very noisy disco till late.
Tiny shared lavatory cubicle.
Shared shower cubicle had nowhere to hang or stow towel and clothes, so stuff got wet.
Fire door marked "Fire Door Keep Closed" was wedged open. Even though I removed the wedge and closed the door, it was later wedged open again.

The landlord is an absolute tube, he and his staff have no customer service skills, typical back street pub with a wannabe plastic biker behind the bar who has no idea how to make drinks that aren't from the pump. It won't be long before it closes again and the landlord can go back to the secure hospital he escaped from.|He ruined an absolute blinder of a day for many people who had come to watch live music by turning the music up to the point of distortion and then basically telling you knob off when you point it out to him.|Will not be going back here and we are local too..weather spoons has more charm than this dump.

Superb little pub hidden away down a cobbles lane by Dawlish train station.
Welcoming atmosphere and locals.
Beer prices are very good compared to my home town of Portsmouth.
Every time I visit the Dawlish area I pop in here and I have enjoyed every visit - gets a recommendation from me!
