Absolutely loved our weekend getaway with girlfriends here in late Feb 2025. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating, friendly & helpful. Our room for 5 people was excellent with comfy beds, good hot shower, kitchenette, tea & coffee making, fridge, robes & crocks provided for all of us for the hot tub. At £30 odd each incredible value for money. Enjoyed our hot bubbly soak in the massive hot tub which we had all to ourselves under the stars. ||Great village too. Lovely evening meal in local pub (Prince of Wales), and then the most beautiful walk on Dartmooor the next day -literally next to door to the accommodation- followed by a great value breakfast at the local ‘police station’ cafe. Will definitely come back with our families next time, or perhaps just us mums again for another getaway!. Highly recommend. Good luck to the nikki, terry & the boys, we wish you every success.

We received such a warm welcome from Nikki!!
The whole place is great, our room was clean, warm, good shower, great amenities.
The hot tub was great fun.
The guest house is really well located to get onto a main track on the south moor which was just what we needed.
If you're staying at the Ramblers Rest then you get deals at other places (shops, pubs etc) which is welcome.
Can't recommend enough.

My partner and I had the most amazing stay at The Ramblers Rest! Nikki and Terry, the owners, couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating – they truly make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The bed was unbelievably comfy – probably the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages! The whole place has such a relaxing, home-from-home vibe that you can’t help but unwind.

And let me tell you, the hot tub is a dream! It’s massive and the perfect spot to soak and chill out. We also loved that dogs are welcome – such a thoughtful touch for pet lovers.

We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. Thanks again, Nikki and Terry! 😊

A brilliant, friendly place, perfect for our needs. Excellent mini kitchen in room. Will bring swimming costume next time for hot tub! Great location with cafes, shops and national park centre in front, and trees and a path to the open moor at the back. This is a place you want to come back to.

Home from home in the heart of Dartmoor!

We stopped by on a short visit to Plymouth and Dartmoor and had a simply wonderful stay at the Ramblers Rest mid week. The hosts Nikki and Terry are extremely welcoming and offer assistance on local activities and venues, along with explaining the generous communal borrowing station of useful items including extra towels, maps, games, and books!

The location is superb for starting walks on some of Dartmoor's finest hiking routes, driving into Plymouth for the evening, walking to Two Bridges for a cream tea, or an outstanding dinner in Tavistock at the Cornish Arms. The rooms are super comfortable and have everything you would need to get settled after a long days walk including a very well suited en suite bath!

To top off our stay I enjoyed a very special moment in the outside spa looking up to find the planet parade in the clear Dartmoor night sky. Breathtaking! An experience that will bring me back time again!
