This place was absolutely lovely and clear presented really well good for one night shower was amazing nice and clean with facilities bottled water tea and coffee and the microwave was fantastic. The TV was great. Everything added place. The only disappointment was the bed was very difficult to sleep it was very solid. I woke up with a bad back, but everything else was fantastic. Highly recommend if you haven’t got a bad back.

Nice rooms on a quiet street. The rooms were clean and well kept. Tea, coffee, mugs, bowels, cutlery provided. Microwave and small fridge with complimentary juice and water in both bedrooms. Plenty of storage. Nice big bathroom with shower. |The location was great, only a few minutes drive from the town centre. There’s a car park for guests’ use but if it happens to be full there’s also loads of on-street parking. |The details for accessing the building and our rooms were communicated clearly to us before our arrival. |Would like to thank the owners again-our daughter was sick during the night and we wanted to freshen the room up before we left but were told not to worry and that they’d sort it, black bin bags were left promptly at our door on request for our pukey belongings! So great customer service.

Very bad experience. The location of the hotel does not match the description here. The soundproofing of the room is extremely poor. When the residents upstairs move around, there is a lot of noise downstairs. Moreover, they keep moving around until very late and drop things on the floor, making a loud noise. I couldn't sleep well all night due to the loud noise. I told the staff and he said he would send a message to the guests upstairs, but there was still no change. I don't recommend it at all.

My dad booked for us to stay here over Christmas. It's very cheap and I didn't have high expectations, but it was not an enjoyable stay at all. The beds are very uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin. You could hear every noise anywhere, whether outside upstairs etc. My dad and I were supposed to stay for two nights but ended up leaving Christmas Day night so we could go home and sleep in our own beds. The check in process was very good but not enough to have me come back.

We stayed at Mile End Road in 2 rooms whilst attending an open day at university of Essex. It’s a 10 min drive away. The rooms have everything you need, fridge, microwave, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, free Wi-Fi. The double bed could have been comfier but that’s prob just my requirements. We had a private bathroom shared between our 2 rooms and was spotlessly clean. There’s a pub a 3 min walk away serving food. Would definitely stay here again if in Colchester

We are visiting family for Christmas and chose the lodge as it was dog friendly. The owner was helpful answered our questions, assisted with the booking. On arrival the rooms were clean and well presented. The provision of a microwave was a bonus., as well as a fridge. We have been out in the day and housekeeping was excellent. ||The off road parking is essential in a busy town and welcome. We had more space than a travel lodge paid less per night and felt more welcome, thank you!

Initially had this place as a last resort for our 3 week trip to England, however, we were not disappointed at all. A small inconvenience was how the beds were a little small (however still comfortable), but besides that, everything was exceptional.||||The room was really well prepared and clean, it came together with an iron + ironing board, mini-fridges, a microwave and basically all other essentials one would need plus free wifi. To top it off, the place is also extremely close to the station, there's a bus stop with buses to town regularly and a fairly close restaurant too.

The booking and check-in process was clear and efficient. Good communication throughout. The room had everything I needed including a fridge, microwave, iron, hangers, towels, tea, coffee etc. Complimentary cold drinks in the fridge were a really nice touch. Parking included at rear of the property.
Overall this was a decent room for a fair price.
