An excellent stay in a beautiful old pub. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was spotless and vey comfortable with lovely little extra touches like homemade biscuits and bottled water.|The food was delicious and plentiful especially the breakfast.|.

Beautiful old pub serving wonderful Sunday roasts (beef, pork, chicken) and other food. The beef and pork were rated excellent by everyone on the table. Five different veggies, enormous glorious yorkshire pudding. Portions very big, no room for pudding.

Service was excellent. Lots of friendly staff, attentive and helpful.

Highly recommend a visit. Make sure you book in advance by giving them a call.

This is my favourite of pubs in which I have stayed in the UK. Not the most glitzy, but a classic and very old country pub, with friendly staff and locals alike. Atmospheric and feels a little like travelling back in time.

Best roast dinner I have had for a long time!! Really tasty Yorkshire pud!!
I had a small portion and it was just right. My husband was very impressed with his roast beef!!

This is a wonderful place! When we stayed, it was cheaper than Travelodge, but the quality of somewhere twice the price. Everything was wonderful. Food, accommodation, service ... And absolutely *great vegan options*! Meals were generous and tasty, beer was great, people were lovely. And we really enjoyed the 40 minute "Routes for routes" public footpath walk recommended in the bedroom information pack. So much so, we did it on arrival and before we left the next day! Thanks so much, Red Lion! Until next time!

Random "just passing by" lunch.

Splendid. Lunch menu is imaginative and varied and includes "smaller portion" option for those who do not seek the full tradiitonal blow out. Great pub; good service; happy people.

Have meant to pop in here for years! Nice local just off main road. Church at end. Good beer. Especially if u like tribute 😊
