Lovely Bank Holiday Monday late lunch after a quick stop on route to Bath.

Food was lovely, service was friendly and the kids enjoyed a brief play in the garden playground/ tree swings before the rain became too heavy.

Nice interior design and clean toilets.

Good sized portions, adults and childrens.

Recommend the Pie of the Day which had lovely pastry, but could have done with some carrots/ another vegetable on the side. Children's chips were delicious.

Just been here for an early father's day with the family. The location and garden is fantastic. Plenty of room for the children to run around, supervised, but well away from any cars. Good selection of beers, not too expensive and very very good food, especially the Pizzas.

Good experience from booking to leaving. Hosts were very welcoming and professional. Beautiful pub and garden. Very popular as always busy. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Slept well in comfortable bed, although pub and garden were busy as weather was good, we were not disturbed by any noise. Fan was a welcome addition in room. Roll top bath felt luxurious and was enjoyed with the nice touch of a couple of candles on the side. Towels were fluffy and changed without us asking as staying 2 nights. Plenty ofvtea/coffee, milk etc. A good location to visit many places. A very happy experience and we would recommend and stay again if in the area.

Went for Sunday lunch the team were welcoming helpful, superb service couldn't do enough for us. Food was delicious, sufficiently portioned. The Yorkshire puddings were huge. The pub itself has a nice beer garden with a heated covered area for a cold winter's day. Welcoming to walkers and dogs. Well worth a visit.

I booked the Redan for 1 night 31st May for my wife’s birthday after a trip into Bristol.

The parking at the hotel was easy in the car park.

When we arrived in the room it looked nice however we soon noticed it was dusty and cobwebs everywhere all along the walls at top where it meets the ceiling.

There was a bottle of water in the room that looked dirty inside and like it had been sitting there a month or two with stuff growing in it. If I had tried to drink this in the night I wouldn’t have noticed. I took this down to reception and they replaced it but there was no apologies.

My wife took a shower and the water was coming out of the seal on the door because it was worn and old. We notified the hotel staff and asked for more towels to mop the water up but they didn’t repair it.

At breakfast there was only one staff member that was struggling to keep up with the orders and it took longer than expected to get served.
We ordered cereal to start with and a cooked breakfast, she said they didn’t have cereal that I asked for but did have granola so I went with that. She didn’t ask if any of us have any allergies. She can back 10 mins later to say they didn’t have any granola either so I asked for extra toast. Surely they know how many guests they have stopping each night so there are no excuses for running out especially when there is a supermarket nearby.

When the breakfast arrived I asked for ketchup and butter and she disappeared for 5 mins and I had to get up and look for her because I expect to have this before eating.
I didn’t have any extra toast but the toast they gave me was rock hard and didn’t taste like toast.

While we were in breakfast we noticed the whole place was covered in dust and cobwebs which you can see from my images.

During check out the staff member asked if we were happy with our stay and we told her no and I explained the reasons. She said she’ll get the manager to call us when he arrives but we didn’t receive a call.

This place could be so much better.
If I was the manager I’d be making sure the place was spotless to start with, it’s weeks of dust that has built up not just a few days which you can see in the whole place.
Not sure what happened with the water but this could have made us poorly and is a health concern.

The best part was the beer garden.

First meal here was ok. Service is ok, generally. Second meal, last night, not good at all I should have sent it back but didn’t want to spoil the lovely catch up we were all having. The worst seafood linguine I’ve ever had. Those tiny prawns the size of pencil erasers (and as chewy) and the smallest squid I’ve ever seen. Shellfish also tiny. I can’t believe the chef let this go out of the kitchen tbh. Won’t be hurrying back :/
