I arrived late, very tired, stressed from a long drive, and coming down with a bug so was not in a good mood. It wasn't helped by poor signage that makes it a little confusing to find reception in the dark & which could be improved (just keep driving to the end). But the chap on reception was lovely and really helpful on the phone and in person, and seemed unphased by me being grumpy, which impressed me. And the room was superb, really quiet and comfortable for a much-needed good night of sleep. Would happily stay again and can highly recommend.

Someone has spent a truck full of money on this place making the rooms and surroundings very pleasant indeed, Vileroy & Boch ceramics, digital shower, modern clean decor etc..|It’s sad to have to be negative when somewhere is so potentially inviting but the two most important and fundamental requirements / comforts are neither use nor ornament..|Imagine being given the choice of two WiFi connections and neither work!|And secondly.. the air conditioning was about as much use as a chocolate teapot resulting in a room hot enough to grow rubber.. |breakfast was lovely, staff were lovely..|This spot needs to get the essentials right and it would be first rate

I was sceptical about alot after reading other reviews. I have to say the bad reviews were wrong on this occasion. We stayed for my brother's wedding for two nights. Two adults and two kids. Room was big enough, had a big bed, single bed and a put me up. Lovley bathroom. Heating worked wonderfully, cold or hot. Breakfast was great. Sausages and bacon were definitely not cheap crap. Fresh eggs were continually bought out.
The staff were so friendly. We had some trouble with our shower but a lady promptly came over and sorted it for us. Nothing was too much trouble.
The bride was in a small room to get ready, we asked if we could use the bridal sweet for her to get dressed and have better photos and reception kindly agreed.
Overall we had a great experience here and one definitely recommend

Staff although not unpleasant lack any enthusiasm. Had to complain on arrival of broken toilet, on our return from being at a wedding all day, still hadn't been fixed. Boasts boutique hotel, however the facilities were very basic, no fridge, coffee machine etc which you would expect in such a place, especially when paying over £130 for the night! Large room and comfy bed, let down by lack of service and those finishing touches which make all the difference. Sadly wouldn't return or recommend.

I have stayed at the Residence hotel for my wedding and i must say the hotel rooms were spotless and the bed was so comfortable definately would have gotten a goodnight sleep if i didnt have a 7 year old bouncing around withe excitement for the wedding. However, we did have issues with the air con. It was either too hot or too cold, and when we changed the thermostat, it jumped back up to being hot again within minutes, but we managed it. And staff couldn't do enough for us on our stay. Will definitely stay here again.

Very beautiful hotel. Amazing views of the golf course from the conservatory. The food in the restaurant is also top notch. The steak and ale pie was amazing. Very comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Nice water pressure too. The thermostat wasn't working correctly in one of the rooms but the staff very generously offered to move us into another room and also gave us a very strong portable heater that we could use.

Expected better was a bit disappointed considering the price. located in beautiful surroundings at first sight looks nice until you actually check in and walk to your room. all the carpets had stains on them through the corridors and the rooms were the same, it wasn’t isolated we had a few rooms all had stains on carpets. A couple of the showers had mould at the bottom of the shower screens. Booked for rooms with breakfast which wasn’t nice either help yourself style cooked and continental offering a variety of food however the only food that was nice was the fruit and packaged cereal overall very disappointing was looking forward to a little break but unfortunately it wasn’t that great.

The hotel is not great at all, first room was tiny hardly any space to move around with a partner. There's no telephone in any of the rooms to reach out to reception, no shower caps, no bedroom slippers, no dressing gown. The only good thing is the showers 🚿 are great, but we won't be back there again as we come from another country and they expect us to use our phones to call the reception number on the key card. There's also no password for the WiFi, just a waste of money.
