We stayed in the admirals suite. Beautiful room with a view across to the abbey. Nice large room, well decorated, lovely en-suite shower room. This room also has a bath in the bedroom at the foot of the bed. It felt very special. If you stay in this room take the time to look at the wallpaper, it is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was lovely. Secured in the vault restaurant downstairs. I would also recommend an evening break in the vault restaurant, it was lovely. When you arrive at reception you will receive a parking card so that you can park your car in the allocated zones for the duration of your stay.

We stayed here as a couple and in the endeavour suite. I’d like to list the good and not so good points about our stay plus some tips to make the stay even better ||Room|Lovely room, modern and clean! However for the price we paid I’d expect a fridge and some ventilation! |We stayed in some hot weather and there were fans in the room however there are no windows to open and even when the temperature went down it was still stifling !|There is no fridge in the room for your water and no TV in the lounge part so the lounge In our opinion was irrelevant! |For that reason plus the uncomfortable 2 nights sleep|I wouldn’t stay here again which is a shame because the room is lovely just not functional!|TIP bring your own pillows the ones on the bed are awful ! ||BREAKFAST |Lovely food with a great choice ||RECEPTION |on occasion the staff were rude and sarcastic to the point we had to move away ! We asked a few questions |and were met with sarcasm ! Not what you need after a 4 hour journey ||Location |Perfect but if you have walking difficulties you will struggle as it’s in a hill ||OVERALL STAY |The room itself is lovely with a little attention to detail , like a fridge, better ventilation and some fine touches it would easily make a 4 star however there needs to be some customer experience training with some of the disrespectful staff ! |For £555 for 3 nights stays I’d expect better ! |We won’t be returning for that reason and the fact that we could hardly sleep with no windows to open it is far too |hot even on a cooler day.

Fabulous little boutique hotel with an easy walk down to the Whitby seaside. Everything was immaculately clean and a comfy bed with fresh, white linen.
Staff and service are fabulous and the meals in the restaurant are delicious. Make sure you book for dinner because they fill up very quickly.

HUGE No parking SCAM
The hotel staff tell you during check-in if you leave before 8am the following day the parking can be validated at the garage for $13
What they fail to tell you is this discount only applies if you check in after 6pm. Not the normal check in time of 4pm. So, you will get to the garage and discover a $35 fee leaving 5 hours before your reservation is up. What a SCAM!

I checked in at 4:45pm and left before 7am.
Still paid the fee and lost 5 hours of reservation.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone who cares about quality and good customer service to select this place.

This was a really good hotel, the room was great, very pretty, the staff were friendly and vey helpful. The history is it was originally a private mansion, extended, then sold and it beame a hotel and I think extened again and passed on until it became the Resolution Hotel. ||The lovely view from the room showed part of the harbour and also the Abbey in the distance. At times during the day, when the light was right, you felt as though you could touch ithe Abbey. We will certainly be back. We even had a seagull come say hello to us at the window a couple of times.||Sadly, the housekeeping in the room let it down. The quilt did not fit the bed - not wide or long enought - it was tiny like a single quilt across the bed not lengthwise, which you noticed more when you attempted to pull it up over you, although the cover was big enough. ||The bottom bed sheet did not fit properly, neither did the mattress cover. As you slept, both the mattress cover (it was far too small for the width and depth of the mattress) and the flat sheet moved further down the bed (not tucked in especially at the top), and you could feel the ridges under you when in bed. (I have a deep mattress plus a mattress topper at home and always purchase the deeper mattress covers) as most do not have the depth.||When we left the hanging sign on the door handle for our room to be serviced they didnt seem to straighten the mattress cover or the flat sheet, it seemed as though they had just tidied the top of the bed and put the pillows, cushions and decorative throw back on it.||When I attempted to fix the mattress cover and flat sheet myself I noticed the mattress was very stained. Maybe next time I should take my own mattress cover.||Cobwebs.. When the bed lights and tv background lights went on you could see the spider webs under, above and behind the tv wooden surround, plus under the wooden bed head where the bed lights shine up. ||It also looks as though they have had a problem with damp in the past in the room.

We stayed in the Joseph Banks suite with fishtank, and it was amazing. This suite really has the wow factor, just beautifully done throughout. The staff are polite, helpful and friendly and the breakfasts are superb. We ate in the hotel's Vault restaurant on all three nights of our stay and the food was excellent every night. An extensive menu, perfectly cooked and presented, and the prices really are very good for a hotel. It's in a very central location on a lovely street with quirky shops and lovely little tea rooms all around. A wonderful choice for a nice break in Whitby.

We have just got back from a two night stay at this hotel, and must say right from the start it was excellent. Very friend reception, we had a twin room with view very clean and comfortable excellent breakfast and the evening meal was delicious. Must also say that next door there's a pub called The Elsinore which served one of the best pints of Timothy Taylors we have had in a long time.

Stayed here for the night to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary...Couldn't fault anything. Room was absolutely spotless ,the comfiest bed we've ever slept in and as for the whirlpool bath ,I'm only sad I couldn't fit it in my bag to take home ..My only gripe was at breakfast, the juice could do with being chilled as it was really warm .Can't wait to stay again.
