Booked as a party of 8 for afternoon tea as part of a bridal shower. 6 traditional and 2 vegan.
The vegan afternoon tea did not come as described on the menu unfortunately. The cakes did not include a brownie or orange cake, and the lemon cake had an unusual bitty texture. The date cake was too dry to eat.
For the vegan sandwiches - the 3 fillings were again completely different to the menu, one had only cucumber in which was disappointing. The bread was also soggy.
I am not sure what was in the vegan sausage roll, but the texture was mushy and not nice to eat.
The vegan scone was the best part.
Overall I felt like my afternoon tea had been sat there for a long time before it was served.
The service was a little slow and it took a long time to get the first serving of the unlimited tea/coffee which we did not receive until near the end of the meal.
Also, it would be nice to not receive additional charge for milk alternatives with a specifically vegan menu.

We visited yesterday nice food at a reasonable price lovely atmosphere and decor with stunning views. We had 2 x roast beef and 2 x nut roasts with 3 x banana pudding and ice cream we each had a drink Total cost £99.50. The staff were friendly and the food timings were spot on we shall definitely be going back.

Great portion sizes but it was seasoned too much and quite overwhelming.

The atmosphere was clean and very nice but we were placed in a booth and the waitresses seemed to have forgotten about us after delivering the food (which already took about 25 - 30 minutes)

We had to wait nearly another 35-40 minute after we were visibly done eating to ask for the bill. We made many attempted to get someone's attention but no one really looked at us in the corner.

Eventually we just asked to pay the front because we were tired of waiting. The restaurant wasn't crazy busy, plenty of open tables which is why I was confused why for the wait.

Poor service and marked atmosphere down due to the service team barely giving us a second thought throughout the meal.
It costs nothing for a business to provide great customer service and you should consider more support and training for your waiting staff.
Food was good however poor show on the children’s meal.
We did receive an apology at the end of the meal and were given a discount on the bill.

Very popular. Good view from the window up the river towards the Orwell bridge. The food is well presented, prices are in line with most good pubs.

Lovely views and beautiful setting but massively let down by the food. Breakfasts were very disappointing, we were missing halloumi from one of the meals and the toast was burnt. Breakfast came out at different times and the service wasn’t the best. Overall, we won’t be returning which is a real shame.
