I recently photographed a wedding at The River Mill in Derby and it’s a fantastic venue for natural, documentary-style photography. The spaces inside are full of character, and the surroundings outside are perfect for capturing relaxed, candid moments without the need for anything staged.

The team were brilliant throughout the day, keeping everything running smoothly while allowing the couple and their guests to just enjoy themselves. It’s exactly the kind of venue that suits my style of photography, and I’d love to be back here for more weddings in the future.

Karen was absolutely brilliant and kept me topped up with coffee.
Lovely venue situated all on one floor for easy access, lots of natural light coming in through the abundance of windows.
Toilets are immaculate and don’t smell like a pub which is a bonus, food was great.

Before getting engaged I had my eye on the RiverMill and it’s really lived up to its reputation! We had the most incredible wedding day. Everyone we communicated with on the lead up to the wedding was so lovely and helped with my many questions and queries! Charlotte was our wedding day coordinator and nothing was too much for her! She was so lovely and put this very type A bride at ease. We had the most amazing day at the beautiful venue and I wish we could do it all again! Thank you to Charlotte and the team for our unforgettable day!

Our daughter Emma and son-in-law Joe had their wedding here and it is an absolute stunning venue we couldn’t fault a thing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they helped with the decorations and put us all at ease which made the day flow lovely, the bar staff were brilliant and the food was delicious. Our daughter and her new husband Katie and Adi Wood got married here yesterday - what a great event - so well managed, so well orchestrated, such good food (really really good), all set in an amazingly boutique and unique setting. We just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team at the River Mill for making our day so special - we couldn't have asked for a dreamier venue and staff working so hard throughout the day.

A particular shout out to Jane who went above and beyond throughout the entire process, she really has been such a big help and made the day run so smoothly.

The decor was so pretty, the food was delicious and the staff were just perfect - I had multiple people come up to me and comment on Jane and the staff and how fab they were during the day so thank you so much for the River Mill team and the caterers!!
