Hotel is in a good location in the town centre, and ideal for my trip.|The staff are friendly and helpful.|The food is very good.|My room was at the top of the building, large, with three windows. I could not get the air con/heating unit to blow warm air. It was quite cold during my stay, but fortunately there was fan heater provided. The room was satisfactory, but none of the windows opened - they are rotten. The decor needs considerable upgrading. The bathroom was adequate, but the glass shower cubicle and surfaces needed a good polish.|The dining room has a lovely view into the garden towards the river. The chairs look rather grand, but the tables are rustic looking, with rough tops, more suited to a country inn or cafe.|I asked one evening for a small glass of wine: 125ml.i was told that they did not have such a measure. I believe this is illegal. The staff member was defensive and evasive when I queried it.|The ground floor public rooms look good, but the whole place needs a makeover. I tend to judge hotels by the excellent standards set by Premier Inns, where everything is always immaculate!

Easy parking. Well kept garden to the rear. Friendly young man on reception even though there were problems with the booking. There were 8 of us for an evening meal and we were in a side room of the restaurant which was very good . The meal was excellent and the restaurant manager was fun. The breakfasts again were very good and the lady taking and delivering our orders was very sweet..|That's the good bits. We were in room 16 which had grubby and broken glass in the windows , the curtains would not pull across using the cords and the lining on the back was ripped. I had to use a shoe to hold the window open. Every bit of furniture had some edging strip missing exposing the chipboard. The shower tray was very slippery.|Not 4 star.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. I stayed on my own with my three children all under six, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. One lovely lady even helped me get my bags upstairs. Food was delicious, service was excellent, staff were so kind and there was a really lovely family feel. Thank you for such a lovely night 🙂

Julie and her staff’s warm welcome and hospitality were 2nd to none at The Riverside House hotel. Service, food and bar drinks were excellent. They are a great team!|Free parking and free Wi-Fi . For us, the mattress could’ve been a bit longer and softer and pillows a bit fluffier.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The window was jammed open so the room was very cold and the roller blinds we hanging off their rails. The carpet was stained in several places and was frayed in several places too. The cleaners had obviously not done their job as there was dirt and stains in various places. To top it all our front door would not lock so we had to stay in a room with the front door unlocked at all times. On advising the person in charge she said there was nothing she could do as the maintenance person does not work on a Saturday. There was no offer to move us to another room, basically we had to put up with it. She was very rude in her attitude and we had no offer of a refund on the price paid. We were booked to stay 2 nights here but decided to go home after the first night. It was my daughter's wedding celebration and this totally spoilt it for us. WE WOULD ADVISE ANYONE THINKING OF STAYING HERE - DON'T - YOU WILL BE THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

Our room was fairly basic, nothing to write home about, we wasn't told about a private function going on till very late so couldn't sleep, and adding salt to the wound we were placed next to a family room with screaming kids that where aloud to jump around on the beds at 5.30 in the morning, so no sleep at all. Upon leaving we did complain to reception about the rubbish night with sleep but they weren't bothered not even an apology. But I will say the breakfast was very good and the lady served us was very friendly and helpful.

I attended a baby shower at the riverside hotel just the other week and all the staff were so accommodating, they were all kind, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and it was such a relaxed atmosphere, they were also happy to cater for several different dietary requirements. We ended up spending several hours having afternoon tea and were able to play games and have decorations, it was really enjoyable and we really didn't feel rushed at all. Thank you so much for the wonderful service.

Nice hotel.good management . Breakfast is fresh and good quality.
Rooms are clean but tired could do with a revamp.
Large free parking is welcome.
