We had a great experience at the Roade House Hotel when we were here recently for a work trip. The family that works here is so welcoming and lovely, the rooms were large with some beautiful original features while still being modern. They have a restaurant on site which had lovely homemade meals and the breakfast was great.

What a village gem! Dog-friendly cafe that’s also a yoga studio, hotel & event space. Service is so friendly, so accommodating, and it’s genuinely dog-friendly. I’ve been quite a few times as a half way meeting point with family but it’s well worth specially seeking out. Such a lovely atmosphere and there are lots of unique workshops and events. Brunches are great. Cakes look amazing. Staff are great too. Also tried Maxine’s Sunday morning yoga class, today. Brilliant! It’s a luxury way to feel amazing. Wholehearted recommend - I can’t wait to visit again.

I stayed at this lovely little hotel for one night whilst walking the Grand Union canal. It was really lovely and comfortable, and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The owner, Paul, was especially lovely and very welcoming.||My room was lovely, and had all the amenities you would expect with a good hotel room. The bathroom was modern and clean with a very nice shower.||I had a very small dinner and a light breakfast whilst I was there, and the food was very freshly made and delicious.||Whilst I only had a one night, short visit, I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. If you are in the area and need a very comfortable place to stay, you will not find anything better.||The owner Paul, was also kind enough to give me a lift down to the canal to continue my walk. Proof that there are still lovely people in the world.

Checked in to be greated by a very heavy smell of dogs. It was very strong and we mentioned it to the staff who said they were pet friendly. We like animals but it was too much for us. | The quadruple bed room was actually two singles pushed together as a double, and a cot futon bed. No sign of the fourth bed.| The tea bags were water stained, and the tray and glasses were dirty. We used our own glasses and tea bags.|| There was no hot water for a shower, or even a shower mat, so after a uncomfortable night we left early for home.|| The room looked fine and the bathroom too but that was about it. No offer of compensation or partial refund just a sorry it was not what we expected.||Loked great on the internet but not in practice sadly. |Had so much better for paying lots less for 1 night.

Terrible customer service. Stayed here for 1 night at the weekend and one of the rooms had no hot water from the shower at all and the sink was broken. When paying £95 a night I expect better quality. When I raised this with the manger they said there was an issue with the sink but made out there was no issue with the shower. No sort of compensation was proposed despite them admitting they’ve had issues with the pipes. On top of this no milk was left in the room and one of the glasses was dirty. Missing the basics.

Would give zero stars if possible. Sat down with the family and order food and drinks, the drinks came but missed one. Took 20 minutes before we saw the staff again to get the missing drink. The food then came for half of the table, half the table had finished their food, then a member of staff came over and informed me that the food I ordered was not in stock. This would be fine if they informed me straight away, however my meal came 30 minutes after everyone had finished their food. I spoke with the manager, who was so rude and aggressive. He raised his voice and said I’ve said sorry, what more do you want from me. Onto the bill, they added 2 extra drinks and an extra meal. I asked for a refund and was told this is not possible on your bill

We stayed at The Roade House for a couple of nights and found it to be a fantastic find. Dog friendly, clean and staff including owner Paul was very accommodating. We had peaceful stay and enjoyed a quality breakfast on our departing day, this was served promptly and hot. Would definitely recommend!

This place is a hidden gem. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, menu is first rate and an extremely enjoyable stay. Would definitely drop back in if we were in the area, if only for the fresh bakes in the cafe.
