Nice venue.
Smaller than your average venue but "cosy" and "intimate" sum it up nicely.

Good parking at the venue for disabled and standard parking. Easy flat level walking surfaces.

We arrived an hour prior to our gig to have a pizza and a gig beforehand. We were allowed to enter the performance hall at that point to "reserve" out seats - that was a nice cheeky little bonus- front row bagged.

Pizzas were fine. A choice of 3. The drink selection was very reasonable as were the prices.

Sound wise it was a good little venue. Not too much amplification required but the sound quality was good.
Definitely worth a visit for music- for the small intimacy if nothing else.

We had an enjoyable couple of hours here in spite of a damp & dreary day. The museum is a small part of an interesting redevelopment of the old rope factory. The redevelopment saw the long single story building divided into a series of units with different purposes. There are a lot of artists working from the units with some lovely galleries to peruse as well as a performing space. The top end can be accessed via the Tesco entrance and that's where the cafe is situated. The Rope museum is just between the cafe & galleries. You can also enter from the north end and carparking is free.
It was interesting to read about & view exhibits related to the local industry of rope making. Well worth a visit.

The rope walk is an old rope factory that dates back over 200 years. The factory was closed but has now been restored and now is a museum Which is free to enter. and cafe. The rope museum is very informative and worth seeing. There are also units rented out to local artists. The art gallery and shop display their work, which is for sale. There is a really nice cafe here, which is very popular. The rope walk also has a space for live events and often has music and comedy acts performing. There is a very large free car park. This was our first visit, and we really enjoyed it.

A great walk today so decided to pop in for a coffee in the Ropery Coffee Shop.
Met with a warm welcome by Lisa and served a great coffee.
About a dozen others in the shop but a real nice atmosphere and Wendy was happy to spend some of her valuable time telling me about upcoming events that could interest me.
Also a great programmes board with a great assortment of events.
The centre is a not for profits centre so visit it when you can you will not be disappointed.

I had visited the café before just for coffee, which is very nice, and they have a choice of oat or soy milk. People were friendly and it is a lovely place with a range of artworks exhibited inside (paintings, sculptures, ceramic...) Nice to sit outside, it is dog-friendly and people of all ages were enjoying the sun.
This time we went for lunch. I picked their dish of the day for £12. It was a Chinese stir-fry which "can be made vegan". When it arrived it was simply shredded vegetables (carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts) bathing in very sweet soy sauce. No cards, no protein of any sort. I was hoping for mushroom, tofu, or noodles...! They did bring a small ramequin of Chinese crackers. I asked for some more and they did bring them promptly. My mum enjoyed her Greek filo pastry dish which was veggie (with cheese and leek) and came with some salad and coleslaw. That cost only £7.50. We were a bit confused about such a difference in price!
As I was still hungry we got some cakes. They had two vegan options: lemon or ginger cake. My lemon cake was tasty but pretty dry - I couldn't finish it. My mum enjoyed her coffee cake. I will be back for the art and the coffee but won't have food there, unless they work on their options.

Lovely atmosphere with delicious homemade cakes.
We called in for an ad-hoc works team meeting with coffee and cake, and although all tables were taken, we were made welcome, and seating was provided in the art gallery next door.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Would definitely visit again

Beautiful art gallery and craft shop in a former rope making factory, with plenty of work available to buy from local artists. Sadly didn't get to sample the café on my first visit. Will definitely return
