Excellent accommodation after a long hike on the Downs. Great bath and shower, comfortable beds and warm rooms to greet us. Water, tea/coffee facilities. We walked to the Barleymow for a great dinner in the evening. Fantastic breakfast from very kind hosts in the morning to set us up for the hike to Eastbourne. Throughly recommend.

My partner and I booked a last minute night away but, because the welcome and the accommodation were so good, we extended our stay. David and Val are clearly a great team who know how to make people feel welcome with cotton bed linen/towels and excellent quality breakfast ingredients. The convenient but peaceful location with wonderful views was just what we needed! Many thanks and we hope to return another time.

We stayed here for one night. The accommodation was very comfortable and immaculately clean. Our accommodation had a private decking area overlooking the beautiful downs. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. The hosts David and Val were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying but for more than 1 night if you can.

Very nice room. Breakfast was additional cost, no worries as I don't like breakfast but they were generous with the coffee. Lovely couple and lovely area! Berwick Church was awesome and we had a wonderful pub meal down the road at the Cricketer's Arms. Only served breakfast at the B&B.

Stayed here to go to Charleston festival. Fabulous location for that and close for other places like Lewes and the coast. Our hosts were charming and very knowledgeable about the area, so we visited other attractions while here. Excellent breakfast as well.

Came here after coming off the hills on the second day of walking along the South Downs Way. Not too far from the path and along a metalled road which is very pleasant after a hard day on rough ground. Room was the double cabin 'Hikers' Rest 1' which had an en-suite. Snug bordering on cramped but the bathroom was a good size.||The accommodation itself is in a very old pub which is now a guesthouse. Breakfast is very nice and served in the pub's old dining room. Well worth £10. The two owners couldn't be more helpful and sent the instructions to get into the room in advance as well as recommending a nice pub. There are a couple a fair walk away, about 20-30 mins one way. Cricketer's was excellent and worth the extra mile or so.||We were very kindly given a lift to the station the next day as well which saved a fortune on a cab. I will seriously consider coming again before walking along the final section to Eastbourne. Thanks!

Lovely apartment, lovely location and lovely hosts. ||We only stayed for two nights, but we’re made to feel welcomed and very safe. We were a little concerned when we realised we were staying in a room over a converted garage in the car park, but had no need to be. It was warm, cozy, well equipped and immaculately clean. ||We would come back here without hesitation and highly recommend to anyone looking fo a break in the Sussex countryside.

Really lovely place, very clean, lovely friendly & accommodating service. Dog was not phased being away from home & had plenty of room to run around. WiFi excellent. Flexible on having to change booking arrangements at the last minute. Only slight negative, if you stay in Hikers Rest 2, make sure the gate beside it is either latched properly, or securely propped open, otherwise the wind will bang it constantly, waking you up at 3am!
