What a LOVELY pub! We played here last night and there was a great vibe - really friendly, welcoming, fun people out to enjoy themselves.

The place was clean and tidy, with nice decor and good functionality. Really cosy atmosphere too - that log burner was lovely (and toasty!)

The food was really wow though - we had the burger, which was REALLY tasty; fresh, clean - tasted genuinely homemade and with great care and attention. I had a side of veg, which was cooked perfectly and my friend had chunky chips, which were delish - again, real old school, home cooked, not your usual frozen chips! ? You seldom get veg cooked well these days and not in pubs, so this was a real plus for me!

The team were also really friendly, welcoming and attentive.

This is a brilliant place, WELL worth a visit. I'd go back anytime - highly recommend! Great work team - it feels like you put a lot of effort into the place, and it shows ?

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was brilliant.
My wife and I had been on holiday in the area for a week and this was the best food and service we experienced the entire time.
My wife had a jacket potato with coleslaw, I had a chilli chicken flat bread, and we shared some fries.
The potato was excellent, crispy skin, fluffy inside. My flat bread was delicious. The salad garnish was brilliant. Fresh and really tasty.
All of it was very good value.
Eventhough we only ordered light bites, the quality was exceptional.
All the staff were really friendly.
We will definitely return as soon as we are back in the area.
We didn't not stay in any of their rooms but have had to give it 5stars so that it doesn't bring the score down on what was a perfect dining experience.

Well well well, where to start? I came in for a roast at this modest, yet exceedingly charming, establishment only the other day and I’m almost lost for words. It was, I dare say, quite simply the most remarkable culinary experience I have ever had. I will not hesitate for a second to recommend this to all my chums. This experience was topped off by the subtly sophisticated service of a young gentleman by the name of Josh. He answered our every beck and call without hesitation and will surely stick in our memory as the true image of what a gentleman should be. All in all, the whole visit was spectacular.

Attended for evening meal, very polite young staff, nice atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to go when they had an extended menu of carribean food by 'blue magic' - the nicest steak and chips I have ever had!. Would highly recommend a visit!

Loved watching the football at the foresters. Great country pub with a proper local atmosphere. Food is always great here. They have recently opened up a pizza bar with the pizzas being cooked on a wood fire oven. Taste fab

Lovely place, lovely staff, lovely food.

I was served by Josh ‘The Frosh’ Francis I believe, well that’s how he introduced himself to me. Seemed to be the man of the hour as he gracefully glided around the gaff, charming the old ladies, cracking jokes with the geezers, and flirting with the fitties.

The roast was sublime, proper good roast tatties and a gravy so good I’d put it in a pint glass and drink it.

Cannot recommend enough, thank you and a special thanks to ‘The Frosh’ - I’ll certainly be back again

Pub itself was quite appealing in appearance and no issues with the decor/layout.
Both of us ordered the Beer Battered Cod
Extremely disappointed with the minute portion size and the (lack of) quality, especially the ‘chips’ which where skin on chips which was not stated.
The 75mm piece of fish was swimming in grease and the hand made chips were cooked in oil that was well best it’s used by date.
Extra portion of Halloumi was okay but wouldn’t recommend the cod and ‘chips’
