Really glad we stayed in this place. Definitely value for money for just staying the night.
There's a lot of snobs on here who've probably never seen the inside of a working class pub. Basically there's two sides of the bar: one room is the pub, and the other is quieter and reserved for hotel guests. Drinks were insanely cheap (not a great deal of choice, but you're not going to get Beavertown for £3.20) and the woman behind the bar was really friendly and made us feel really welcome and at ease. Gave us tips on where to go etc.
The room was perfectly clean which was good enough for us. Nothing like the horror stories in other reviews. Only complaints are that one side of the bed didn't have a table and there weren't any shower gels/shampoos, so remember to bring your own!
All in all, we're really glad we stayed there, and if we're in Birmingham again, this would be towards the top of my list.

We booked this a couple months ago with other people. Then a few weeks prior saw some bad reviews about this place, the other people decided to cancel and went elsewhere ( £80 more then what we paid) we decided to stay and risk it! Thank God we did! No sign of rats, room were really clean( carpets may need a carpet clean) the room didn't smell of smoke at all, couldn't hear anyone else in our room either.
Only downside were the customers for the pub, thought it was a good idea to smoke right infront of the door way while trying to enter and exit each time(not the staffs fault ) . Parking is really limited website says 20 spaces, but more like 9 cars can fit. Free street parking if you get lucky Like I did. Breakfast was really cheap and good, Catered for 2 young children also.
Overall really good, just think twice before you see a bad review, most likely looking for compensation because they're cheap asses!

This hotel really is a story of two halves. Firstly as we approached the carpark, there were people hanging around and smoking, lots of rubbish and rat traps etc in full view. Not a great start. On entering, we pretty much had to go into a noisy bar area which was quite busy and despite us carrying cases etc, nobody thought to move aside to let us through and it was all a bit awkward. As a woman with two children under 12 I felt somewhat out of place shall we say. Once inside we were directed to the other side to check in, where the lady was very pleasant and explained a few things to us about where to go for a decent breakfast etc. |The hotel is essentially rooms above a pub and the whole thing is very run down. Carpets very worn, and a sort of stale smell through the corridors. That said, we were pleasant surprised by our room which was like a small flat with two separate bedrooms which was actually very handy. The rooms were quite dated and tired but I have to say the beds were ridiculously comfy and I had a very pleasant nights sleep both nights. My eldest child even joked he wanted to take the bed and bed covers home with him as they were so comfy. |The bathroom was very tired and run down, with cracks in the tiles and uneven flooring. The shower door was broken and there was barely any space for all our toiletries etc which was annoying. |We were going off to a wedding locally, hence the stay so didn’t spend much time at the hotel other than sleeping so the little quirks shall we say weren’t a big deal but let’s just say I’m glad our two night stay was cheap. ||When we returned from the wedding we were greeted by another very pleasant member of staff. By and large all the staff we met were chatty and pleasant. ||Nearby there is a decent retail park, but otherwise the area around is quite run down and at night time we could often hear ‘boy racers’ revving their engines up and down the street outside. Luckily we’ll all sleep through anything.||I wouldn’t stay again as I have no need to. But it wasn’t awful. It did the job.

The worst hotel i ever visited. Booked 2 months in advance thinking that its good hotel based on pictures. But that's misleading. The check in experiments is worst. They sent an email saying my room number ia 10 but given me different room. Its very noisy and you can wake up if someone passes by your door. I couldn't sleep. There is mold in the toilet. Mattress is very uncomfortably. Booked it for 4 nights but barely spent one night. At checkout, the lady said we will give some refund but nothing is given and i had to book alternate place to stay. Would give 0 star if possible.

Would 100% recommend this hotel, we would definitely stay here again. The workers as-well as the locals were very friendly and welcoming. While we stayed there was a riot, the workers and locals went above and beyond to make sure that everyone in the hotel and pub was happy and safe. All in all, very happy with our stay.

Absolutely awful, arrived waiting to be severed at reception and turned out to be a bar with drunken men which made me felt very uncomfortable, my partner was forced to park his car in a very ran-down and small parking space surrounded by nothing but rubbish! We then went up to the room and unfortunately had problems in the night with the fire alarm, went down stairs to ask someone for help only to be greeted by a man lying on the sofa with a duvet sleeping in the bar, he then went onto saying he will “try” to help, when we was in the lift with him I noticed he has no shoes or socks on and was walking around the hotel! he came up to our room only to stand on the bottom of my bed with his bare feet out while trying to look at the fire alarm he was clearly drunk, as he said he didn’t know what to do without even looking at it proply and suggested we sleep in the car if we can’t sleep absolutely outrageous! On the morning of check out there was no one to be seen so left the card on the desk and left as soon as we could, Would definitely not recommend!!

Booked for 1 night, when I arrived got checked in and went in the lift, which smelt damp inside and the floor was all coming up, got up to my room and was disgusted. Carpet was filthy, stank of damp, bathroom bin was covered in mould, all seals on the shower were hanging off and the window had no handle and had been left wide open and it was raining and is a busy road outside. I had my young son with me, no way I could sleep in the room. So I rang reception and asked if there were any other rooms because of the state of this one, to be told no. So I quickly booked a travelodge and checked out. Explaining why I couldn’t stay. The lady wrote it all down and said she’d pass it onto her manager. They are now refusing to give me a refund because apparently I just left without telling them anything which is a complete lie.
