Just don't bother. |The hotel has a nightclub next door, Friday and Saturday nights are extremely loud until 3am. No reception staffafter 8pm. The rooms and public spaces all need a massive refurbishment. No toilet roll left in the room. 90% of the bathroom floor tiles were broken. Net curtains shredded. Bed uncomfortable. I would highly suggest for £30 less going to the travel lodge a 2 min walk from the town. Very quiet and next to the train station and a co-op. |People come in and out at all hours with doors slamming and floorboards creeking. Could only get 15 channels on a very very small t.v. no phone signal and couldn't connect to the WiFi. The town however is beautiful with extremely friendly people and great places to eat and drink. Just don't stay here

Quite the experience that we were not expecting.

Liked · The Grand Staircase was exciting to walk up in order to get to the room. Check in was smooth and the receptionists where extremely pleasant, we were in Room 11 the Deluxe Room which we paid extra for.

Disliked · The was no hot water working in the room we were staying in. Unfortunately they couldn't fix it so we could not use any of the facilities in the room, such as the shower and bath as there was no hot water. We went down to reception and they said they would put us in Room 32 in the morning as there were no other rooms available that evening. The room that we were put in the day after (Room 32) was vibrating all day and night with loud bassy music from the nightclub next door which went on until 2am so it wasn't possible to sleep. The mattress I'm sure must have been about 40 years old and was extremely springy and uncomfortable and crunched when you moved on it. We've both got a few flea bites on our legs and arms but nothing that some cream won't sort out so no dramas. Feel kind of robbed of £150 to be honest.

I’m very disappointed with our stay. It was 3 in the morning and we got kicked out because “loud music “ and the “smell of weed “ but the smell of weed was coming from outside in the town, when the number 21 knocked and asked us to turn down the music we did . We didn’t realise it was all that loud, there was all sorts of people walking in and out all night as NO ONE locked the door or gate . Was 3 in the morning 2 young girls with no way home .|For the hotel inspector to knock on the door and force open the door whilst I’m trying to have a wee is appalling too , best believe we will never be back again !!|Also ghd had white powder all over the floor under the bin, a bogey on the wall and behind the bed there was mold , in the bathroom there was no toilet roll so we went out and bought some , round the scertin boards there was black stuff , there was sick down the side off the bed . Not a very good look on your hotel .

Oh dear. What a dump. Shabby, dated, hasn't been decorated in years. Room had no heating or hot water. The bed to be fair was comfortable but the room was tired and the only reason it got a second star is the cheap rate (£60). A shame as its an excellent location and had great potential.

Absolutely disgusting accommodation. Grubby stained carpets, filthy pigeon droppings all over the bedroom windows and pillows as flat as pancakes! I had no confidence that the room had been cleaned. Absolutely horrid! DON’T DO IT! There was no way I was going to sleep in this absolute dump so requested a refund and checked into the nearby Travelodge. I’ve never been so pleased to see a Travelodge in my life! Pure 5 star luxury compared to this dump! I’m cross that these hotels are allowed to function. It should be shut down on H&S grounds!||I’ve given it 1 star as there isn’t an option to give it 0

Wonderful Historic Building, Wonderful Location, just a few minutes walk from the great sites of Rochester and the train station. Quiet, Clean, Comfortable Rooms with Great Facilities. Fantastic Staff, particularly the young lady at Reception.

My partner and myself stayed at the royal bull and Victoria Rochester on Saturday night as most places were full. from the time I walked into the reception area to go upstairs to the bedrooms I wanted to go home. It is so run down with a awful smell of smoke and damp. The place needs a major revamp. When entering the bedroom I was so not impressed. The mould and furniture so old and the bathroom was terrible. The tap did not switch off running water continuously and loud noises from the pipes. The water was Luke warm but the conditions of the bathroom and bedroom absolutely terrible. The hotel is in the high street with lots of bars and clubs therefore noise is loud. Honestly the place is in need of a huge renovation and inspection.
