The hotel had only been reopened under new management. The staff were very helpful and knew the local places to visit. Beds were comfy and room was spacious. We stayed in room 1 with the en-suite which was pleasant and clean towels and toiletries supplied. It was cheap to stay so it was far from 5 star but if all you need is a bed, kettle and a shower you really can’t go wrong here, food wasn’t available but the pub over the road served exceptional dishes for less than most local restaurants.||||||We would definitely rebook here, couldn’t be beaten on value or the hospitality.

This was the worst experience ever. As I walked in it was practically empty looked rough and threadbare . I then asked for some food items they had nothing veggie no veggi burgers no veggie pie. Finally we gave up ordered chip butties dry awful chips and
literally unbuttered slice of bread left most of it! and drinks. Played on slot machine won £41 machine only paid £11 told they would call engineer then recieved text saying engineer couldn't see transaction REALLY? It obviously registered as it paid out £11 but not the other £30 and so I lost the winnings and money I was still playing with. I then got an extremely defensive text from a member of staff when replying by text late. Felt robbed to be honest and reported them !

Felt safe |Room quite warm |Clean sheets towels |Bed OK firm |All Staff friendly |Guy with rottweiler dog very friendly too , dog was not biting more licking and very friendly. No issues there .|Small toiletries left and soap but didn't use because shower wasn't clean.|Wanted to really like this place but it has really let itself down.|Didn't eat or drink |Not for me won't be staying again ||

I've been in a few times now. Great service, good entertainment, and great for a quiz on a Sunday and Wednesday.

Bartender was accommodating and friendly.

Drink were reasonably priced.

One of few pubs to still hold a piano.

Toilets are incredibly clean for a pubic house.

Minor inconvenience for some but not a problem for the merely lightly intoxicated - to the left of the entryway the tiles are not flush with where the carpet ends.

The Saddle Inn is a nice traditional pub. There is a good selection of beers lager and cider, including a cask conditioned hand-pulled real ale, which was in excellent condition when visited. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and there is a nice beer garden behind the pub and a car park.

Had the sample menu here with food starting on Monday. The service is excellent, the new management ans food is perfect fit for the place!

If you expect to sit in a nice pub and enjoy your night think again, the staff are absolutely horrible and rude. Never experienced anything like it in my life. Awful experience. |We drove over 100 miles to attend a family wedding, after a long drive we were pleased to sit down (in what we thought was a nice pub), but after an hour the woman serving us decided to tell us to leave with the most horrible attitude, with no fault of our own. She stated that we hadn’t done anything wrong, she just didn’t want us there. |I found it very rude and i was shocked to say the least. |She had about 3 other customers in the pub it wasn’t busy at all so I didn’t understand why she wasn’t pleased of the custom. |We proceeded to leave and head to a different pub up the road (which i would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat) when we got there we shared our experience with the staff and customers about the saddle inn. They were not shocked at all, some customers in there experienced exactly what we did. |Overall it was a disappointing experience and anyone visiting this area my advice would be not support a business like this, with rude, disrespectful staff and owners who clearly don’t appreciate business or money especially when we are in a cost of living crisis. |Go somewhere else!! Highly highly do not recommend this pub!!
