Nice, clean budget hotel rooms and apartments in the city centre, very close to the sea.

It was ideal for my parents, who had a spotless 2 bed flat for a week, and really could not fault it.

The staff was also very polite and helpful, special shout out to Dawn and Christine who are just lovely.

It also helps that 7 nights here cost half of other places and honestly you get a lot for it!
I've seen people suggesting to go to the Queens Hotel right opposite, but my experience with that hotel in particular is not a positive one (faded glory, really).

Have stayed here several times. The hotel is nothing fancy, but newly refurbished, clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Single rooms are particularly good value at around £25. Ask for a sea view room if one is available.

I had a room at the third floor, window overlooking the ocean. Friendly staff. Room was simple, basic, a bit old but clean and with a small bathroom ensuite and clean towels every day. Free wifi, but no facilities in terms of breakfast or dinner. The last thing is not a problem as there are many facilities nearby. The hotel is under new ownership and during my stay they were working / painting the outside of the building so it seems that they are working to freshen things up a little.

I love visiting this place. I get a very warm welcome everytime I return. The rooms are clean and have stunning views of the seafront/ beach. It is a budget hotel, but represents fantastic value for money and has recently been refurbished. No breakfast, but there are plenty of places in the local area to choose from. I will only use this hotel in Portsmouth. Keep up the good work guys!

After having a nightmare night at the Waverley Park Lodge, ( see my review of this) I was relieved to find that the Sandringham had a vacancy for a couple of nights. The Managers, a husband and wife team,or maybe a couple ! were very friendly and approachable. The room was wonderful, spacious,the shower was great, the accommodation was spotless. The managers were great, had good listening skills, were genuinely warm and friendly people. and were suggestive of good restaurants to try. etc. The MATTRESS WAS COMFORTABLE. The room although it was at the front, had double glazing which kept out most of the noise from the street. I could barley here it. After my nightmare at Waveley Park this was like a breath of fresh air, and I would have no hesitation in going back there or recommending it. Also although they do not serve breakfast, there are loads of good local restaurants will do you well. And with such reasonable prices, it makes sense to have a wander round and find a good breakfast there.

We’ve recently stayed at this hotel for a family holiday being 3 adults and a child the apartment was immaculately clean and welcoming on arrival we were greeted by Winny who was very polite and greeted us warmly even tho we were early for our check in she checked our room had been cleaned and handed us our keys which was fantastic the hotel is currently being renovated and work was taking place whilst we were staying which didn’t effect us in any way they’d always warn us and apologise for any inconvenience the room had easy clean wood flooring well equipped open plan kitchen diner and living area both rooms has amazing sized en-suite bathrooms which were clean and fresh all the bedding was also clean and fresh it’s also been recently fitted with high speed WiFi which has fantastic coverage throughout the hotel. The hotel is situated very close to the sea front and within walking distance to Southsea Clarence pier, Gunwharf and the historic dock yard the hotel doesn’t have a bar or food but is situated close to Palmerston road with ample shops and food establishments to choose from we will be sure to book and stay again..

Though the hotel has a nice place, close to the beach, its old and the staff doesnt put customer service very high at all. The place probably looked nice 20 years ago, but not a whole lot of renovation or care can be seen put into it. ||||Their breakfast and coffe is horrible, and there is NO internet in the rooms.

Stayed here several times... we're 3 chaps on a boat needing budget accommodation in the heart of the bars, restaurants etc. Perfect, bed, shower, loo & tea & coffee. Great for us!||Staff really friendly, clean & bright.
