A great place to stay, loved the breakfasts, had been a touch worried about noise, but those staying were considerate and the noise from the bar didn't travel to the rooms in the two nights I stayed (sat and sun nights). Only funny thing was the placement of the bathroom mirror, if you're 5foot 3inches and under, you've got no chance 😄.
Breakfast was lovely, staff were really helpful and the breakfast area was really pretty

We stayed here for one night and we had a nice room. The pub itself is nicely decorated with a reasonable selection of drinks. The food selection was quite good too until it was served. I had asked what the venison pie was served with and was told seasonal vegetables so opted for this. When it was served there were 5 halves of roasted parsnip with the pie! I asked if there were any other vegetables as I don’t like parsnip and was told only broccoli which I opted for. I was served with virtually a full head of it, l am still looking for the venison in the pie. I wouldn’t recommend this pub for dinner but the breakfast was fine.

This is a lovely hotel/ Inn with good location, comfortable room, friendly staff and great food. Special mention to Jade assistant manger very polite and who was very informative of local area.|One drawback is residents dogs not controlled in restaurant area and allowed to walk round no leash, not very healthy and safe especially if you have children. Not full stars because of this. Eating areas and animals don’t mix.

Great day for VE Day, Sal was amazing through-out and great to see the place supporting the Royal British Legion. Bake sale was great. I had the vanilla buttercream cupcake and the raspberry and coconut loaf. Also won an overnight stay at a sister inn on the raffle which was a great surprise! Chowder starter was delicious and great portion size.

We stayed for one night with our 2 dogs so that we could explore the Seaham coastline. Everyone was really friendly and the dogs especially were made so welcome and spoiled by all the staff we met. Dinner and breakfast were good and we will definitely stay again next time we’re in the area.

Rooms clean and decently sized, staff amazing and food absolutely delicious.
Only reason service isn't 5 stars is during the backlog of breakfast orders on Saturday, which I did feel really sorry for the staff for, they were very clearly trying their best and very apologetic despite some unreasonably unhappy punters, however, if your orders are going to be delayed, it would be reasonable to keep the continental options available a bit longer, at least coffee/tea and juice, so that people can have something while they wait and drinks with their meals. The reality was that people waiting over half an hour for their breakfasts couldn't even have a juice with it by the time it arrived. This might help to appease some of the frustrations.
Also, the eco scheme whereby you can forgo your room servicing in exchange for a free drink on a daily basis, while excellent and generous, is a little confusing and could be explained better by staff during check in. Overall though, these things probably come down to management/training as all staff I encountered in their natures could not be more friendly and helpful. Would 100% make a point of staying again.

When booking had the choice of double or family room, chose double but on arrival had been put in family room in the annex across the car park. The room was musty smelling and the bathroom was nothing like the one we had booked the room based on. The shower cubicle was very small and was made worse by a glass shelf that you hit your elbow on whenever you tried to move. I'm a slight person so must be difficult for larger people. The bed was 2 put together and so had a hard ridge in the middle. There was also a knocking noise of pipes all night which meant we woke up more tired than we went to bed. We did mention it on checking out and the person we spoke to said we were next to the boiler room but that they would not have expected noise so hopefully it will be remedied for future guests||||On the good side the staff were all really lovely and the pub itself was very nice. Breakfast was great, so nice to have it made to order for the hot food rather than a buffet. The chef was very accommodating with my allergies.||||Overall could be a brilliant place to stay if the room had been better and we had got some sleep.
