Not a good experience. When ordering the girl taking my order was so busy shouting orders at everyone else it took 4 attempts to order. We then received totally the wrong food with coffee in a takeaway cup. Was told it was because it was the ‘end of the day’ it’s 13.35!!! The coffee was incorrect. In fact the only part of the order that was correct was a can of Pepsi. Management training is very much needed. An apology wouldn’t have gone amiss. Sad to say we won’t return in a hurry.

Really disappointed - tried to order breakfast 10:55am and was told sorry breakfast finishes at 11:00 - tried to order latte and was told sorry machine not working - ordered americano and it arrived half full. To top it all off, breakfast sandwiches were served to another table at 11:10am

Aim was to go round garden after breakfast and decided not to bother.

Cheers Dave.

We booked afternoon tea for my mum's birthday and it was nice. The sandwiches were lovely and tasty. The cakes were nice. Personally I don't think you also needed a scone. I think you could do a separate scone, jam and cream afternoon tea and substitute another small cake. The tea set was a little disappointing because it just didn't seem 'fancy'. A plain white teapot and mismatched cups and saucers. I would have loved a tablecloth too, it would have added a nice touch for a pre booked afternoon tea. The tea itself wasn't very strong stuff but it was ok. We were seated on our own as the place wasn't very busy on a Tuesday so the atmosphere wasn't great but it was nice.

Ordered at around 12:25 on a quiet Sunday. The lady serving was rather rude, ignoring us to deal with other staff and customers whilst we tried to place our order. We asked if there was a table inside but she started to make a fuss about it so we said we'd just sit outside, even though there were clearly multiple empty tables and we could see the cream tea bookings for that afternoon on a clipboard by the door.

It then took 15 minutes for just the cake to arrive. After 45 minutes we went back in to ask how long the paninis would be, and was told it was the next order. Multiple more tables of cream teas were served in this time, whilst it became colder and windier outside.

I can only assume our order was marked as complete when the cake was served and they forgot to make the sandwiches. When they finely arrived almost an hour after ordering, they were barely toasted, luke warm and the 'pizza sauce' was just puree sprinkled with herbs - at £10 these were definitely overpriced. There wasn't even so much as a sorry for the wait when they were served.

Went for our birthdays. Booked for 3 afternoon teas. Got told there were only 2. Sat and waited for half an hour drinking from mouth wash glasses. Tea and coffee machine was broken. Weren’t asked what our preferences were. To then be faced with a manager with no etiquette what so ever, who spoke to us as though we were idiots, after witnessing her rearrange someone’s food with her unwashed hands. To then be told she could rectify it all, 35 minutes for food that was already pre made this morning before opening.
If you work in hospitality days should be made for people, drinks should be offered and apologise should be made with no acceptation.
Will not be returning

Called in for something to eat as we were visiting Elsham Hall.

A lovely little cafe in the court yard entrance to the Hall, with convenient parking.

We sat outside (but there was a good choice of indoor tables) and ordered the ploughman's which was excellent value and included a cold drink. Food was swiftly delivered and very tasty!

The only downside was the children running round screaming kicking up gravel in the courtyard. Certainly not the fault of the cafe. But it did take the edge off the experience.

Unfortunately my normal Paddington stare at the children failed miserably.

Food quality is good.
Did get told no soup available after 2 other meals brought out and the third meal was toastie and soup special.... then badly worded afternoon tea menu caused other issue with soup.
Soup aside good quality food, and staff attentive

Not the best afternoon tea i have had to be honest. It was pre made up and the sandwiches were dry. The cheese scone was nice though. Also they don't sell ice creams here which would of been nice as they have a lovely outside area.
