Had such an amazing stay here this weekend! Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits.
Jo and family really have created something special here and the extra touches of having a little hamper and fridge full of fresh and local produce really topped it off. The Refuge itself was so comfy and warm! Can't wait to return for another stay!
The landpod was fantastic, really comfy and warm with plenty of space. All the amenities worked perfect, the shower was lovely and warm after a few moments and the log fire kept us warm all the rest of the night.

Wonderful little place. Myself and daughter booked The Refuge for a night. The test is, would we book again and we absolutely would.|Loved the outdoor kitchen and that was well stocked with most equipment you need. The welcome bundle was outstanding and very appreciated.|It was so relaxing sitting by the camp fire, owls in the distance talking and toasting marshmallows. Even had deer in the morning.|We did buy extra wood for £5 as we were sat outside for hours. There is a little heater in the pod, so we could make sure it was warm before bed but we weren't cold. We did take a really big blanket with us as it was Oct and we wanted to sit out for as long as possible. Bed was also surprisingly comfy. |We did eat at the Bewicke arms at lunch, but the food is Thai. Very nice food and lovely decor, went there as the other pub is shut. |If we go again, definitely taking ear plugs as the church just doesn't chime on the hour, it's every 15 mins and very loud! |Lots of nice little touches and very thoroughly thought out.

The Sleepy Explorer...|Well. What can I say. This is the perfect break away for anyone wanting to reconnect and experience something different. I came with my daughter for her birthday. We were greeted by the wonderful host Jo, who led us to our magical hideaway! There is everything you need for your stay, just bring your food and ear plugs if you are a light sleeper (beautiful church bells do chime). Mini log burner and oil radiator in the pod, plus a plug to charge your phone. No WiFi, but had signal so no issues using the phone if needed. Plenty of wood available for the fire and log burner. Lovely welcome hamper too! If you are contemplating staying, do not hesitate to book, this will be a stay for the memory book! I will definitely be returning for this magical experience again!

We absolutely loved our 1 night stay! We wish we had more time to stay!
Great place for nature lovers! Fireplace, comfy camping chairs, kitchen with lots of lovely food- break, eggs, milk, fresh berries and other bits provided!
It had absolutely everything you could think of! Such a peaceful place!
I loved outdoor shower too!
It’s a must!

We stayed in the refuge. Firstly it was a beautiful location, the pod was brilliant and had everything outside we needed. It was nice and comfortable to sit outside the fire every night, and also a table and chairs to eat at. You’re supplied with a hamper and fridge full of food you need which is brilliant. We saw people mention the church bells but they didn’t bother us at all. Watching the nature around us was lovely, even the cheeky squirrels checking what was in our food bin🤣 We had problems with the shower and the staff were super quick and helpful to resolve this for us which we really appreciated. We booked to stay an extra night which I’m really glad we did. There are some lovely walks right from the village you stay in which we enjoyed, with maps included in our pod. The signal was hit and miss for data, as obviously no wifi, but we didn’t mind this. It was a lovely way to unwind in a beautiful place without wifi and just relax. If you do need signal for directions etc then a short walk into the village and we managed to get signal😊 Thank you and I’m sure we will be back

We had a great weekend at the globe in the sleepy explorer! We had the woods to ourselves- although you wouldn’t have known there were other pods there. The camp was everything you’d want with a few nice treats left for us. We loved making s’mores by the fire and looking through the ceiling of the globe when the sun rose.

We would definitely recommend to our friends!

We stayed at the Globe within the Sleepy Explorer sites. Cannot recommend it enough. The value for money is insane - they provided so many beautiful treats to eat on top of the accommodation. The host was so welcoming. It’s unbelievably magical and not a surprise that it’s rated as an OMG property on Amazon.

I didn’t know quite what to expect when I booked up The Sleepy Explorer, so was very impressed with what I experienced. I stayed in The Basecamp, it was comfortable and well equipped. There was a welcome hamper awaiting me with artisan bread and eggs and milk ( in the fridge). I loved the fire pit and enjoyed very peaceful surroundings. The owl made it for me, hooting as I drifted off to sleep.
