The massage I had was superb. Couldn't fault it and genuinely one of the best massages I have ever had.

That was the positive of the day...

We paid £122 each for a full day spa as a group. With only one treatment each, the rest of the time we were told we could use the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room to relax and unwind...
On that note, the pool was so so far away from the spa area and the loungers are not how they are advertised on the website - you can't move them so you end up being in one long row (think foot to head...foot to head...) so not exactly conducive to a nice group environment...

The pool was essentially a leisure one. Kids and large groups charging about and screeching (not a relaxing and calming space that was promised)

The pool is freeeezing! The 'jacuzzi' is a kiddie pool with a 2 of 3 working jets pushing cool water about. Oh and the sandy, gritty residue on the bottom was a treat....

Afternoon tea was fine, not the best but not the worst. 80% of it was tasty... A few questionable favours going on but could just be preference maybe.

Having been told we could go back and use the facilities post afternoon tea, we went to do this, only to be told the pool was at capacity so we couldn't... After some confused waiting in the cold, we went in after seeing some people leave, we found out towels had been removed from the area and nowhere to sit at all... 9 of the party decided to leave at this point with 4 of us stayed to try and make the most of it but the vibe had been spoiled so we ended up leaving shortly after.

The spa itself is beautiful and would highly recommend the treatments and products used. The therapists were so lovely. The packages however are so so overpriced for what is offered. There needs to be a spa specific area you can relax and spend time in if you don't want to be essentially super soaked by a pool full of screaming 6 year olds whilst sat in a static conga line.....

This is not a Spa destination nevertheless we had a lovely day at a good price . We were greeted and shown around by friendly staff, given slippers, robe and a small gift of body butter, soap and a bath tea bag all made locally . Use of pool, sauna and steam room , delicious afternoon tea then a 30 minute massage
It was a relaxing day when the weather outside was awful.
Cons: the poolside is small so not enough room for loungers side by side .
The sauna and steam room are small.
The ‘bubble pool ‘ was cold , shallow and gritty .
This place really would benefit from a hot tub .

Had such a lovely spa day, pool was a little cold but I had read this in previous reviews so expected this. Shame jacuzzi was also cold and not completely separate. Spa staff were welcoming and friendly, had a facial which was amazing would definitely go back for treatments. Afternoon tea was delicious, again staff couldn't do enough.

I very recently had gel nails here, the therapist was perfectly lovely and did a very neat job. However the nails chipped almost immediately and were peeling off like stickers by day 3. This is not what I expect for £50 - which is overpriced in the first place for this treatment

We have just returned home after a golf weekend at Barnham Broom.
what a shame the trip was spoiled by a few silly things.
I know you can't have control over staff not turning up, but not be able to serve breakfast over one cook not turning up. I must say the staff that dealt with this problem were absolutely brilliant
The two golf courses are a good tests. and are in very good condition.
The only thing is you don't know were you are going. And on some holes ruins the experience.
Why they have no lay out map on the tee is very poor. The management must be able to get sponsors to pay for the installation if necessary

Booked a spa day for myself and a friend for £75. Upon arrival, no welcome drinks. We'd booked a 25 minute treatment each and both chose the oriental head massage. The masseuse (if she dare call herself that) clearly had no idea what she doing and spent a good 15 minute just randomly scratching my head), poorest massage I ever had. The spa where the treatments are is a good 5 minutes walk from the changing rooms and pool and you have to walk across the hotel in your robe, past all the fully dressed guests and golfers. The pool is reasonable size and tepid temperature. Part of it is shallow for a so called jacuzzi - this is a handful of water openings in the floor putting out cold water. Nothing in the walls and not warm enough or relaxing in any way. There are a sauna and steam room which are nice but very very small, so if it's even remotely busy you'll be breathing other people's breath. The shower area stank of urine and mold. This appears to be open to the public and people arrived with small children after 4pm, which is fair enough, but doesn't contribute to a relaxing environment. Lunch was a mixed bag. My friend got an afternoon tea which was generous and she really enjoyed it. I had a salad which was big but mostly lettuce, barely any dressing, just really a bunch of ingredients in a plate rather than a salad.

The good bits: pleasant welcome on arrival, beautiful views of the golf course and pleasant bar staff ( we were lucky that the weather was great so we're able to sit outside, otherwise would have been a miserable experience), changing rooms had decent size lockers, the robes provided were nice.

Overall, it was okay because we decided to go with it and enjoy the day, but would definitely not book again.
