Lovely staff, amazing views and an incredible relaxation room.
The sauna and steam room could do with some updating but work perfectly well, the sauna is a great temperature.
The pool is never really that busy aside from the 4-5pm time on a Saturday & Sunday when there is an hour allowed for children.
Worth a walk around the grounds after your treatment, or simply enjoy the sun terrace or the quiet room!

Booked a spa day for me and my partner. I’m 45 and she is 34. I am local to Bowood but never been to the spa so thought for our anniversary I would treat us. Our visit there was today (Saturday 16th November 2024).

The spa itself is not a spa, it is essentially a hotel pool with a jacuzzi and the sauna and steam room. This was very disappointing as I’ve been to council run pools just a good and considering the price we paid it was not good value for money.

There is no dark chill out room, well there is a relaxation room which is ok but it’s bright and big and anyone can go in there. There are no heated sun loungers, no ice bath/crushed ice or ice bucket. No water jets, no different experience type rooms you come to expect now at nice spas.

Now we get to the food and service at lunch. Ordered the vegetable pakoras which came Ice cold so sent them back. The next lot came were ok but the recipe needs sorting as the inside was not cooked although hot, just quite runny like the batter mix was not fully cooked so the inside was very wet which is weird for a Pakora.

We both ordered the Korean chicken burger which was awful. Tasted greasy and burnt and also very lacking in any kind of flavour. To be fair the chunky chips were lush and the Prosecco was very nice.

The staff are very young. There was no checking in asking how things were at all, I had to shout to find someone to return the Pakoras and there was no apology or anything.

Being local I was hoping this could be a regular spot for us.

Such a shame as clearly a lot of money, time and effort is spent on the grounds which are beautiful.

Spa area, relaxing room and the treatment was amazing. The service was very excellent. The pool area wasn’t as clean as I thought it would be but the rest of the grounds and rooms were looked after very well. Just be aware that kids and families will be in the pool from 4pm.

Amazing afternoon. Although I was disappointed that for the money we had spent to only have 3 hours in the Spa plus a treatment. I had the leg and foot treatment. It was sublime and so relaxing. The cream tea was delicious and we had a bottle of fizz to top it all off. Thank you.

Facilities are well maintained but therapists cut treatment time and get away with it. For the 2 treatment rooms to the side you get to watch them do it again to the next customer from the loungers in the relax room.
Pickup 5min late
Allow 5min to undress leaving you waiting
End 30min appointment after 22mins
Leaves 13min for them to reset the room, and repeat
Should be easy to fix - hope someone else soon says they have

me and my sister (wheelchair user) went. And I could not hype the staff up enough, they were so accommodating for my sister and really had the patience and best customer service available. they were so helpful in letting her have the same experiences as anyone else could. The experience itself was so lovely and we didn’t face one bad member of staff, all were so helpful and welcoming. I could definitely and would recommend this place to anyone. it felt really relaxing seeing the staff being so good with my sister and it really did help relieve the stress as not every place is like this with wheelchair users so it was really lovely to see and to see how happy she was after it.

Unfortunately 1 start because I have been a member since last year and since October it feels like the place hasn’t been cleaned once. The dirt around pool area makes it impossible to want to get back there and we pay a lot of money for the entry. I would expect cleanliness to be top priority in an expensive place like this, I asked about it, multiple people complained to the reception, emailed to ask for cleaning to make it more comfortable but nothing has been done since. I still see the same roll of dirt under the chairs and in the pool area corners that hasn’t been moved for months. Windows haven’t been cleaned either, limescale especially around hot tub hides the beautiful outside views. Changing rooms the same, showers fall apart and slimey or hairy. Please use the money from members towards professional regular cleaning. Swimming in the pool with dirt around is inappropriate when you pay for it, who knows we are even swimming in.

Very good facilities at the spa, good service from the staff. Two comments though, Spa Desk staff need to be aware of people that need serving at the bar/cafe area. Whilst in the Quiet/relax area we were constantly disturbed by staff greeting people that were having treatments and staff coming out of treatments rooms going to the spa reception area. Not there fault it's a bad layout!
