Shocking rip off
My family booked Christmas Day dinner at Crewe Hall for £90 ahead. This is quite expensive but we assumed it will be worth it due to the setting and the anticipated quality of the food. Regrettably we were a bit disappointed the food was presented more like a care home portion and was extremely average Quality and we were all convinced that the turkey was processed and not carved from a real bird. The meal cost our table almost £2000 and we all felt incredibly ripped off I would certainly discourage anybody from ever considering having Christmas Day dinner at this setting again unless of course you are a wealthy octogenarian who spends most of your life in a care home
Utter rip off, shame on the management at Crewe Hall

Spent a couple of days at the so called ādog friendlyā Crewe Hall. This was for an internationally organised dog grooming event. To say there were no clear rules as to where dogs were allowed is an understatement. It seemed to depend on the staff in the brassiere at that time. We decided on the first night that I would stay with my dog whilst my friends went for dinner and I would have room service, only to be told this was not available and that my friends would have to bring a tray up to me. On one occasion we were asked to eat in the bar area, not a problem, but our table was surrounded with fragments of glass. Our room was standard, no luxury there, the mini fridge didnāt work and neither did a lot of the room lights. There was kibble left on the floor from the previous guests, which my dog found and started to eat. This could have been anything and another unfortunate incident that could have lead to expensive emergency veterinary care. My small dog had an accident on our first night, which was mopped up and duly reported to reception in the morning. They added a Ā£50 cleaning charge to our account and said someone would come to look at it. They did, couldnāt see it, tried to say other marks in the carpet must be it and they would be back. They didnāt come back to clean it, but did replace a lightbulb!
When we questioned the receptionist on departure about the different issues she said that things hadnāt gone to plan because of a shortage of staff. So the organised buffet and alternative eating arrangements made by the organisers with the Hall team for those with dogs didnāt happen making things very difficult.
From what I heard from my friends I can only say I am glad I decided not to make use of the spa and leisure facilities
I can honestly say I have had much, much better at Premier Inns. Their rooms are comfortable, clean, light and spacious. The dining is of a great standard and of equal pricing to the Crewe Hall

I booked this spa day for myself and my husband for his birthday, for we donāt get much time together as we both work very hard and have a young child, we had booked this day off together and arranged childcare to what we struggle with, the treatment itself was ok, we both had full body scrub but missed the shoulders and chest wasnāt done, went into the the spa facilityās, very loud and busy with young children, no beds at all people hogging with towels, the ājacuzziā is big enough for 2 people ! We didnāt Evan use this when we was there as it was always full, went into to reception to see if they had any more beds, they said no sorry, we did try to relax and enjoy but after having a sauna and being shattered and no where to sit or relax we just couldnāt take it anymore and we left spending only 2 hours for a whole spa day!! Management said we could book another day when itās quieter but Iām sorry we couldnāt go through that again, we went to go relax and felt more stressed on leaving!!

Went here for gym, swim and massage.
The gym is clean with good equipment.
Pool area good, could do with a little upgrade here and there.
Sauna and steam room we're perfect.
Massage was very good, with ambient room.
The massage area is next to the entrance and reception area which is a bit awkward if you want to move from swim to massage in robes. I was a little confused on instructions to the massage area.
Lots of parking.
Wheelchair accessible.
Lovely surrounding hall and fields.

Facilities are great but the massage are awful. I've been given a menu to choose what I can have and was given a different treatment, I've mentioned this to the lady and told me I need to pay extra for it. I've already got everything paid for and I don't see why give a menu when it's not included in the spa package. Barely any pressures with the massage and felt like no effort was put

This is my review of recent visit to Crewe hall for a spa break to celebrate my future sister in law hen night.
On arriving the first impression of the hotel at the end of the grand driveway is a beautiful old building, plenty of character in the original build, with a newly built extension added where the main facilities are available.
Our check in process was incredibly muddled to say the least, we were obviously in a group where not everybody knows each other yet the reception team thought it was ok to hand out keys in any old order and the rooms were not allocated correctly. My disabled aunt ended up being told when she went to check in that her key was already with a member of the hen party, and she had to go and find it for herself. It was not easy for her, being disabled and unwell to be traipsing around in search of a person she has never met to get a room key. Totally unacceptable, I have never known a hotel to operate this way, handing out the room keys in bundle. And when my 2 aunts eventually got their room it was obvious that they had gotten the wrong room as my aunts ended up having to share a double bed. And the lady that had the other key must have had the twin room meant for my aunts.
Anyway the rooms themselves, in the newer part of the building, were a good size for me and my cousin, we had a twin room. Beds very comfy. Tea/coffee making facilities provided were adequate for quick brew first thing. Complimentary hair/body/wash as standard was a nice touch. Other room extras were hairdryer, mini fridge, iron and board, TV, plenty of plug sockets. Large bath and separate walk in shower in bathroom, overall the rooms in the new build side are of a good standard, although we had a room on the inside of the extension so the view was pretty much just a mud pit so would like to think that there are plans to turn that mud pit area into something more pleasing to the eye.
As part of the spa break package we had treatment and use of facilities of the pool/Jacuzzi/gym etc. Unfortunately I canāt comment on these facilities fully as due to injury I didnāt use them fully. Instead I waited for my treatment in the relaxation room provided. I did enjoy the mini facial and back neck and shoulder massage for my treatment. Left me feeling fresh and rejuvenated, I have never had a facial before and would definitely recommend it. The lady was pleasant and very chatty. No complaints about the staff in the spa except due to staffing issues, some of the group had to miss out on their treatment and the time slots were muddled around so I was on my own having my treatment separate from people I know in the group so I couldnāt relax and enjoy the experience fully with my family as hoped. Again it felt a little unorganised similar to reception checking in scenario.
As part of the package we were provided with lunch on arrival day, evening meal and breakfast the following morning.
Lunch was basic sandwich and sides, nothing too fancy, however a really nice touch was the self serve salad bar, and a selection of desserts included. Food was ok, best bit about the brasserie was the staff, Michael was stand out at lunch time service, going above and beyond.
Evening meal was chosen at lunch, the soup was lovely and very tasty, although the bread roll on the side was very hard. The main course I chose was beef burger and was really quite good, not asked but served medium, pink in the middle. The chocolate brownie was the least nice of the meal, hard and stale tasting. Again the best bit of the dinner service was the staff. A young waiter Finn was the stand out staff member of the evening, very attentive and pleasant.
Breakfast was ok, cooked/cereals. I didnāt feel like the sausages were great quality, a bit too gristly for my liking. Bacon was nice though. Scrambled or fried eggs available, both slightly uncooked in my opinion. Hot drinks brought to table on request.
Overall the experience of the Crewe hall spa day break was a good one. Itās a shame about the muddled room situation as that really was a huge let down.

Booked a Freestyle Deep Tissue massage here.
Unfortunately deep tissue didn't have enough pressure. No emphasis on the neck aspect at all. I was waiting for my trapezius to have massaged as been a long and tiring drive up. The acormial/scapular part of the trapezius wasn't even massaged.
The massage didn't even touch the quadriceps of thigh. Just a single stretch by flexing the knee. That's all.
I wouldn't even call this a tissue massage, let alone a "deep" tissue massage.
The stay at the hotel has been great though.
But apart from it. Not too great at all.

Booked a spa day for myself and my daughter which included a 25 minute treatment each and afternoon tea. The girl who greeted us on reception was very nice and she showed us into the changing areas. We were expecting a relaxing day with other adults but the changing rooms and pool area were full of small children. There were a small number of loungers very close together around the pool - as we were there early we managed to secure two beds but we saw other people arrive later and there were no beds left. There was one small whirlpool which was obviously in demand and there was a sign saying it was for the use of people aged 16+ only. Despite this, we saw 2 small children led to the whirlpool which already had 2 ladies on it trying to enjoy their spa day - the mother then walked away and sat down out of sight leaving the kids there. No lifeguard or pool attendant was in sight. We managed 10 minutes in the whirlpool during our day but were very conscious of the other people waiting their turn to use it. We also used the sauna and steam room. Our treatments were fine although the room was chilly. After our treatment we asked where to go for afternoon tea and were told that it was in the main hotel (a good distance away) and that we would have to get dressed again to eat there. This was disappointing as we were expecting to be able to go back to the pool area after lunch but, not wanting to hike back to the spa and put wet swimsuits back on we called it a day and went home. The shampoo/body wash dispensers in the showers were empty and we were only given 1 small towel each which was soaked after using it on our loungers - no more towels were available to use after our showers. Overall we did enjoy our day but hadnāt realised that this āspaā was actually just the pool area of a leisure centre used by lots of other people and families . For this reason it wasnāt nearly as relaxing as we had hoped.
