Had a spa day with my daughter for her birthday. The back, neck and scalp massage was lovely, however the spa not so great. The pool was ok but the jacuzzi and sauna were grubby and looked like they needed a good clean. The jacuzzi was out of action, and a temporary one was there which only held four people. (Looking at previous reviews I’ve noticed the jacuzzi has been out of action for at least five months,) which is unacceptable really when you think how much a spa day costs. Also not enough sun loungers. (They’ve extended the whole of five lakes to incorporate Potters, so why can’t they spend a bit extra and either extend the spa or just look after it a bit better. Surely the spa is one of the most popular things there!)

I don’t think I’ll go back, The Life house in Frinton is much better on every level.

Really nice hotel, staff are absolutely brilliant. Whether it be in the restaurant or around the pool they cannot do enough for you.
Nothing to complain about accept the door closing mechanism need updating as I was woken up 5 times by nearby rooms letting their door close.
Great choice at the evening buffet, nice breakfasts too.

Visit only a few weeks after Potters Resorts had opened thier latest Resort we were extremely surprised with the decor and the typical attentive service that we have come to expect at Hopton. The entertainment was outstanding and the tiered seating in the theatre means every seat has a perfect view. The quality of the food was awesome and so much choice.
There are soo many activities and are great fun with different ones from Hopton like boating and the games area, many I have never tried before. The accommodation is superb and the all inclusive means no bag or wallets needed. Didnt try the spa this time but intend to on our next visit and looking forward to seeing what more improvements have been made .
5 stars is surely on the way for this Resort.

First time to a spa day so wasn't sure to expect.....the whole day is to long the spa is to small couldn't get in always people in it the relaxing room wasn't that relaxing no fake candles alight none worked we tried not very clean ....and being there all day would be nice with a cup of of tea or coffee in the morning maybe biscuits or a peace of fruit as people where going down stairs to buy things from the shop which is very expensive.....little things like that always go along way ....but the lunch was very good as we read the reviews about lunch but can't complain and the massager was very nice so and the lady was very nice made me feel relaxed..... just somethings do let the place down especially for the money needs some work to the place ....

My daughter and I booked a spa day and on first impressions Potters reception very nice, helpful staff, went upstairs to the Spa area, again very nice lovely staff, changed into our dressing gowns and given our towels, slippers, free locker, shown where the relaxation room was again nice big room (missing a water table) but went to the spa area and got our drinks. Member of staff show you the stairs to enter the pool area, and unfortunately this is very poor, big jacuzzi out of order, small one low pressure, steam and sauna ok, pool was warm but needs tiles cleaning and a few floor and ceiling repairs. Looking tired and old (yes five lakes original but still needs maintenance) Was just a bit flat compared to the rest of the hotel and spa.
Afternoon tea served by Jamie again nice room away from main residents still west dressing gown, scones hard and cold, nice cakes and sandwiches (funny hearing everyone says you can have the egg mayo)
Treatments, back and neck massage, scalp massage and facial all amazing and made to feel relaxed and fresh, again nice friendly staff. Really enjoyed our time at Five Lakes and would go again if the pool area was maintain and upgraded shame because would have sat round the pool area longer just didn’t have that invited feeling.

My wife treated me to a spa day for my birthday. (Thank you) We Took the day off work and was looking forward to the day.
Straight away with the lack of signage to point you in the right direction.
Once entered the pool area.
Very very dirty and jacuzzi was drained and out of use with no signs or safe barriers…
Decided to go I the steam room.
So dirty we had to come straight out.
Decided to go in the sauna. Not hot and dirty and very dated and wood was rotten.
Spotted a cheap hot tub in the area which we thought was a replacement for the jacuzzi out of use.
Had dirty looks off of a so called director (Andrew) wow want a nasty man.
Was very rude and told us to get out and we shouldn’t be in There no customer skills at all.
There was no signs on the equipment so we wasn’t supposed to know.
This ruined are day as we felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day.
Yea time came which seem to take forever as there was nothing to do due to the dirty pool area and Andrew.
They provide 1/2 a slice of bread each for a sandwich and only tea and coffee sitting in an open area for everyone to see you in your dressing gown
The whole experience was embarrassing.
I highly recommend that you do not waste your money on this spa experience.
Hopefully never have a run in with Andrew the very unpleasant man.
Avoid avoid avoid…

Staff 10/10, treatments 10/10, relaxation room 10/10. Afternoon tea 8/10, only savoury was sandwiches would have been nice to have another savoury like sausage roll or quiche and not as many cakes. Pool 7/10 I like relaxing by the pool when I go to a spa, this was not that relaxing as was open to all the resort, it did not have a relaxing atmosphere so I spent my time in the relaxation room.
Also would have been nice to have some biscuits or a small snack on arrival as it is a long time from getting there and not eating till the afternoon. That's why the Overall experience was a 4 and not a 5.
