Such a great stay for the night, the staff are so welcoming and lovely! The room we stayed in was lovely too, nice and warm with a cute tea and coffee station. Included all the necessities however no body wash or shampoos (not a big deal if you bring your own). The pub is attached to the building and the atmosphere is great. Overall lovely place for a lovely price!

John and I have stayed here several times in the past few years. Each time we feel the service couldn't be better.||The rooms are clean and perfectly sufficient. They are the exact character you would expect from a renovated stables.||||Hosts Terry and Mary made us feel so welcome. We had a fantastic evening in The George playing pool and chatting! Lots of laughter and good juke box music. Then a great night's sleep.||||Nice early morning after our porridge pots, which I always keep for a warming start, we continued our drive back to Surrey in the daylight. ||||Thank you so much for your hospitality. ||||Yvonne and John

The room (2) had no window or any form of ventilation and smelt damp, so I refused to take it and found somewhere else to stay in Wellingborough. A refund has been refused as they apparently offered me another room, but I didn't hear that, although anything habitable would have been an improvement.

Was fine, but earplugs are a must as the dividing walls seem to amplify sounds from other rooms. I could hear every single word of the quiet conversation the next room were having this morning.

The shower was really good, but no shampoo or shower gel which felt really strange - luckily I had from another stay elsewhere. I checked in through the bar which was easy. I believe if you book direct you can have a dinner and a drink included.

Awful experience - tiny bathroom was unheated so very cold, no shower gel, shower hose was absolutely covered in black mould, dark brown towels felt damp and unclean. In my opinion avoid staying here!

We arrived late, around 8;30 pm, yet they went out of their way to feed us.||The room was ideal for us.||Clean sheets & towels, and provisions to make our own coffee.||A toilet and shower, which was clean and tidy too||The second evening we stayed, they were fully booked for food, but again they went out of their way to arrange seating and again feed us.||They had a varied range of drinks and the menu was just up our street.||Kath had fish & chips and I had a burger on the Friday evening. Both were very satisfying.||We both had ribeye on the Saturday evening and again, it was cooked to perfection.||All the staff were very friendly, as were the locals. We may have been 200 miles from home, but it was just like walking into our local pub.||We will definitely be booking again.

Booked to stay as it was close to a funeral we were attending. Wish we hadn't! Welcome was poor, entrance was unpleasant and well below expectation. The room was poor to say the least. Bed was really old creaky divan with the flattest pillows in the world. Bathroom had rusty loo roll holder, mould everywhere in shower. Didn't stay our second night. Was supposed to have dinner included but after spending one night in the room was not prepared to eat there. Worst £130 I've ever spent

So I’ve fallen on extremely hard times, I’d lost my job and then shortly after I was made homeless, all within a week, I was sleeping in my car until I scraped £65 together to pay for a room with a real bed, which by the way was like nothing I’d slept on before. After I rang to book a room I met one of the generous owners outside the property, I was welcomed warmly, I explained my situation and told the owner I was so grateful for them taking cash, as I had sold my games console in order to pay for the room. This is where I was blown away by the kindness and generosity of the owners of The Stables at The George Inn. Firstly they knocked £5 off of the price, leaving me with enough money for something for dinner. When I went into detail about what I had been through the past week she asked where I would be staying on the Sunday night as the council offices opened on Monday. I never expected free accommodation, and asked permission to sleep in my car in their car park as it has CCTV and is in a nice quiet village so I wouldn’t get any trouble. These amazing people, sent from god, have suggested that if they have any spare rooms the following night, I could stay free of charge, in order to be well rested for my appointment with the housing team on the Monday, but of course, I will not forget these amazing people, and I have said that once I am back on my feet I will pay them back plus any kind of added cost for the inconvenience, the people that own this place are probably some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They have saved me at least one night of sleeping in my car and I’ve never been more grateful. If your considering visiting Wellingborough or anywhere in Northamptonshire I would highly recommend The stables at The George, not only are the owners deserving of the business, but you also deserve a friendly face after a long day, along with a great nights sleep in the perfectly balanced modern yet also vintage room that you booked, guaranteed to feel relaxed after staying here. There’s no hustle and bustle in the street out side as your in a small village just outside of Wellingborough, walking distance to a supermarket
