Just had Sunday roast !! After a forty minute wait (lady did say there was a delay) dinners arrived we had a large roast through the price is wight .. very poor two small pieces of roast potato very small amount of cabbage small amount of carrot red cabbage beef and Yorkshire pudding . Dinner was only just warm …. how disappointing as took from grandson and girlfriend as a treat! I’ve just phoned and said to them how disappointed we all were .. I didn’t want to write a bad review but all I got was sorry!! Very disappointed!!

This is a hidden gem. Didn't stay here but stumbled across it for somewhere to eat.
The food was amazing. Had the steak baguette & it was honestly the best ever.
This pub should be heaving but I think the roadworks that are in place aren't helping. If you visit IoW you should go here. Use Google maps to navigate your way around the roadworks cos it'll be worth it

Visited this pub for early dinner. Food was amazing. I had steak baguette with potato skin fries. Never tried them before. Hubby had chicken strips.Best food we've had in a long time . Was an early dinner so quiet when we arrived. But by the time we left it was very busy . The young man working the bar also served the diners and I must say he done an excellent job considering he was on his own. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. Thankyou to The Stag.

I haven’t been here for several years. It wasn’t busy when arrived, in fact we were only ones eating in conservatory. Service was quick and efficient. The food was absolutely great. I was very impressed. Quality and quantity was good. Definitely recommend.

Food is great value, service is very friendly and attentive. The conservatory dining area could use a really good clean though, there is a lot of mould on the windows, cobwebs, and ripped/dirty chairs. The tablecloth was very sticky too. It looks much cosier in the pub side and I think next time we'd request to eat in that section. There was also a lot of food out of stock.
We'll definitely be back though, great little place for lunch and the food was lovely.

Visited the stag on Christmas eve, we orderd 3 × fish & chips, it was absolutely disgusting, the chips were hard & dry, mushy peas were awful but the fish was the worst we've ever had. The batter initially looked good until you cut into it, it was yellow & soggy inside which just stuck to the fish & made it un eatable, there was some type of thick sticky fluid oozing out of the fish (may have been fat from the fryer) it just wasn't cooked properly, personally we would never go back there. Very poor.

First time visit for quick breakfast. Polite staff and prompt service. Breakfast very nice and well cooked.Coffee nice too. Would return.
