A quirky, comfy place that has decor to delight and a menu to please most tastebuds. ||||The staff are helpful, recommending a takeaway that delivers on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was closed. We were welcome to eat it in the bar rather than our room.||||Breakfast was disappointing due to hard boiled eggs for Eggs Benedict, equally my husband's fried egg was solid and his breakfast was cold. The tomato was hard, not even softened, the beans were cold. On the plus side, the sausage and bacon were tasty and well cooked. ||||At breakfast the dining room had napkins and cutlery under tables from the previous night. This isn't a big issue when everything else is well maintained and wonderfully clean but I saw it.||||The phrase my husband and I used was that it was near perfect but missed the mark on several minor niggling points. For example the toilet seat was loose and the doorstop behind the bedroom door was too close to the hinge this reducing the opening width of the door.||||The bedrooms are cosy and well furnished. My personal preference is for firmer pillows not the soft, squishy ones in the room. But that's a preference. Opening windows overlooking the beautifully kept grounds are a bonus. ||||Overall Stanneylands offers a warm welcome, a comfortable night in a venue that feels relaxed.

The good points: The venue decor is quirky and comfortable, in an upscale gastro pub/ boutique hotel way.
The not-so-good points:
1. The breakfast - My wife had the Eggs Benedict and the eggs were hard boiled (see picture). I had the cooked breakfast - in contrast to the wonderful, delicious dinner we had a couple of weeks before, we had high hopes for a breakfast of a similar calibre. The breakfast ingredients were good quality, but it was delivered cold.
2. Not being thanked for staying at hotel/paying in a clear, polite way. Yes, I'm an older person who prefers a clear "thank you" instead of "cheers guys".
3. Staff not looking at us when they spoke and not talking clearly. All the staff are helpful and lovely, they simply need to grow in confidence and improve their communication skills. They work in a great venue that has been well thought out, the staff should be proud of the offering and reflect it more in their customer service.

We were having a family gathering. The hotel was ideally situated for us all.
The staff were friendly and very helpful, service with a smile.
The rooms were clean and nicely furnished.
The food was excellent!
It is not far from Manchester airport if travelling by air.

Great ambience throughout and a great restaurant, but rather let down by the lack of soundproofing of our bedroom.||Wowed by the thoughtfully considered decor on arrival both downstairs and in our bedroom we found Stanneylands to be just what we like. Restaurant service was superb, the best we have experienced for a very long time. Food was excellent and presented well.||Negatives were a chill room in the evening when we returned to it at 9pm and no heat in the pipe to warm the radiator, a trip to the Reception solved that. However the room walls appear paper thin and guests raised conversations in adjacent rooms were clearly audible.||Overall we would still return as the rest of our experience was so good and the positives outweigh the negatives, hoping that the same guests aren't next door!

The only problem with the room was with the shower you had to turn it completely twice to cool the water down.
The first breakfast was cold and things were missing and when it was replenished that food was luck warm. The second d day the food was good.

My partner and I had a lovely stay here. We combined it with a walk in Styal and lunch at the Ship Inn, dinner at the Stolen Lamb and drinks in Alderley Edge! Lovely hotel, room was small but well equipped. TV unfortunately didn’t work. We didn’t eat at the hotel.

I love Stanneylands for feeling special, a treat, yet not 'Cheshire set'. We had lunch, so only something light. The service was great, welcoming staff, and a lovely place to spend a few hours with a friend chatting ?.

Stayed at the Stanneylands as we were visiting family in the area. The hotel is in Styal and has a rural feel. Close to the National Trust Quarry Bank Mill and a 7 minute drive to airport. We would definitely stay again when in the area or if flying from Manchester Airport. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the public areas are nicely decorated and the greenery outside makes it feel nicer, despite the housing development opposite. We had a standard room which was a decent size, good value and overlooked the green areas. The room itself was very pleasant, bed was comfortable and had everything you needed, including a fan. The bathroom was adequate but tired. A rusty shower hose and towel holder didn’t help and are easy fixes. I gather the deluxe room bathrooms are better so I’d probably pay the extra £20 for those next time. Breakfast was a buffet but you could also have food cooked to order. It was busy and food ran out, but it was replenished. Car parking was free and excellent. You can barely hear the planes at nearby Manchester Airport.
