Didn't stay over but we had a meal, one staff member was so lovely but we were out of the way due to a mishap with the tables that should have been rectified on our arrival but wasn't. For the rest of the evening we were more or less forgotten about, except by the earlier mentioned staff member.
Other staff were rude and preoccupied.

I had the shwarma and enjoyed it.

Good sized portions.

My partner had the burger and didn't like the patty at all.

As a previous regular we meet here out of convenience rather than anything else. That said, the chef is new (although I was told he was on holiday) and the food has improved dramatically. Splendid all round, the service too was excellent (it has been poor on occasion during the last few years) the bar staff, the girls (and Carl) were attentive, polite and hard working. Bit of a turn around compared to recent visits. Thanks all.

We had an event in Melton Mowbray so booked a night at The Star Inn,which was only 15 minutes away
Had a lovely room ( downstairs).
It was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Large bathroom too.
It was our wedding anniversary so we booked a meal in the evening. The food was amazing and the staff really nice.
We had a Continental breakfast the next day which was simple but perfectly adequate.
We will be booking again next year..

What a lovely Hotel, Bar & Restaurant. We stayed over following a wedding the previous day. Lovely friendly staff. The bar was great & wish we'd been able to stay for Sunday Lunch instead of booking elsewhere (unfortunately had to meet up with what was left of the wedding party in Melton)The rooms were fab, bed really comfortable & breakfast awesome. Definitely recommend.

Went here for wedding anniversary lunch. Staff very friendly and attentive and I had one of the best steaks I have ever eaten! Perfectly cooked and tender. Husband had fish and chips which was also fab. Apparently the beer was good too! Would definitely recommend

I would give the Star Inn 1744 six stars if I could. All the staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent - the finest steak and ale pie in the Midlands. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. In all, better than staying at The Ritz!

My sister had guest stay here for her wedding. Clean rooms and air conditioning for those hot days. Morning we had the breakfast greeted with kind members of staff. Topped the end of my sister wedding weekend off nicely

We found this pub by accident due to a faulty satnav but fate was smiling on us because it was perfect. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
