Like other reviewers, I was shocked on arrival to find the advertised free car parking was charged at £10 per night because I used Booking.com. We have stayed at this hotel several times over a few years, but will not be back if they are going to introduce sneaky charges like this. I wonder what they will think of for next year?
It is only a low class hotel but has represented reasonable value for money, but it has definitely gone downhill, in my opinion.
I think people in the room above ours were taking lessons in clog dancing. We thought they would cause the ceiling to collapse.

Enjoyed the most wonderful Sunday lunch here on 23/02/25. A variety of meat roasts were all cooked to perfection as were the seasonal vegetables that accompanied the meal. As someone who is not usually a fan of pub Sunday roasts, I found the lunch here to be exceptionally good. The sticky toffee pudding was also a real treat. Could not recommend the restaurant enough.

Came here by chance after the pub across the road being full. Well I’m glad it was, the staff were friendly, the pub clean and tidy and the food! Wow the food was lovely we both enjoyed our food and the prices were very reasonable, if we are ever around here again I’d be sure to visit again.

Comfortable hotel with incredibly friendly staff! They went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs, from early check in to late check out. Day and Night available to support. Also very good housekeeping team! Clean rooms, free coffee, hot chocolate and cookies. Bar & Restaurant excellent as well! The rooms are old and simple but good value for money! Only the Wifi signal wasn’t good enough depending on where the room was located.

Very nice restaurant and bar but the rooms are poor. Cheap though so you get what you pay for at the end of the day. They charged us £10 for parking too which wasn't expected. You can avoid that by booking direct with them apparently instead of through a booking agent

Nice guy on reception booked us in very helpful . Room a little dated, but clean n adequate at the price. Stayed fri/sat night dined there both evenings lovely food & plenty of it ! Fabulous breakfast all served by happy smiling staff especially Linda she made our stay, really attentive nothing a problem .|Definitely will be back again when attending show at NEC very convenient

Disappointing Stay - Would Not Recommend

I had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The rooms were average at best, with outdated decor and poor-quality furnishings. For the price, I expected much better.

One of the issues is thumping loud music that went on into the night, making it difficult to get a decent night’s sleep. To add insult to injury, the hotel now charges £10 per night for parking, something that wasn’t clearly communicated upfront. Many guests, myself included, felt this was a sneaky tactic and were upset to only learn about it upon arrival.

I spoke to other guests during my stay, and it seems the general consensus was one of disappointment. It’s a shame, as this hotel has potential, but the combination of hidden charges, poor soundproofing, and mediocre room quality makes it hard to recommend.

Save your money and look elsewhere!

Went here for Christmas dinner, and it was the worst food we've ever been served. We was put in the conservatory and it was so cold we had to all eat with our coats on. When the food arrived you could tell it had been plated up hours before, if not the day before. All the food was stone cold and had to be sent back, and even then it came back out cold! Mine was served on a side plate and when I asked about it the waitress she said it was the same size portion, just on a small plate. Then when the vegetables came out I had no room on my tiny side plate to put any on. No one in our party finished the food as it was unedible. If it wasn't Christmas day I would have walked out and gone somewhere else. I will never return to this place. Shame really as it used to be a nice place.
