The hotel was perfect for our needs, the only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the lack of air conditioning. The afternoon sun cooked the rooms even with the window open. We ended up propping the door open to try and get a breeze through the hallway. We knew it didn't have a/c but didn't appreciate how will the building is made to stay warm in winter. The breakfasts were just what we needed before our day trips. All the staff were excellent and always smiling.|The location next the train station was perfect as well. We also managed to land a carpark each night as well.|The rooms we had were clean and well appointed, the tv and wifi were great to use.

Stumbled across this hotel when looking for a weekend away in the Cotswolds. What a gem of a find! We had a lovely welcome from Mike . The room was bright and spacious and the bathroom was a beautiful design. The breakfast covered anything you wanted and was served hot (a rarity these days). We strolled round the Farmers Market on Saturday. Dinner was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. We were not intending to stay for Sunday lunch but had been so impressed with the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff we treated ourselves to it and it did not disappoint!! We will definitely return in the Autumn for another weekend.

What a find! Perfectly located , right by the station and with the town shops on the other side. This hotel has a homely feel with friendly, happy and conscientious staff. The food was delicious and perfectly adapted for dietary needs. The room was spacious with big, fluffy towels and a most comfortable bed.The tv in the room had access to I player and ITV X. The historic building has been renovated with a modern but stylish rustic feel. Will surely be back, as apart from the great first impression, they also have dog friendly rooms and we frequently travel with our dog. I wish the team the best of luck with this relatively new venture.

Our stay in Stroud was great. The location was superb since the hotel was directly at the train station and very close to the town centre.
The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful at all times. Our room was huge, bright and spacious. It was equipped with all necessary amenities. The only critique is the missing fridge. That would definitely have helped. The rooms were directly above the outside seating of the bar but it was okay for us. The guests were not too noisy. The food in the hotel was a highlight. Both, breakfast and dinner were great!

We had a delicious meal there and the service was just great. All the stuff you’d expect but better. Good solid grub served with a smile. In fact, good service makes food taste better. The wine was delicious as well. you can park outside the door which is a joy.

I went with my husband and was able to bring my small dog too for a 2 night stay. We arrived by train which was very convenient. Location is perfect for walking my dog along the canal and into the fields, close to town. Room was perfect, comfy bed and clean. Staff were extremely helpful and the restaurant where we ate for both nights was excellent with great options.
