Didn't stay at the inn, just food and drinks and it was fantastic. Great value for money and extremely tasty, best pub grub I've had in a long time. The pub itself is a lovely building with an open fire, spotless and even cleaner toilets. Will definitely come again to try more of their delicious food, staff were lovely too, all round great experience

What a lovely place this is for Sunday Lunch. Not been before and stumbles across this lovely pub. Offering a carvery and normal menu. The Broccoli cheese on the carvery was to die for. Moist turkey too. 10/10 would recommend. Hats off to the chefs.

Restaurant review only.. We booked for a birthday meal, the service initially was quite good, the serving staff where helpful and timely... The food on the other hand was not very good at all. Firstly I was served a coffee with a biscuit which had a hair sticking out of it. We made the server aware and it was it was rectified with a fresh cookie.
We then ordered their Roast carvery option, this wasn't very nice, the vegetables where dried and had been left too long and the roast meat was far too tough to cut never mind chew. The portions of chips where obviously re heated as the where very dark and burnt. We did mention it to and where charged for a small carvery instead of a large... Whole thing was disappointing as we went for a birthday meal... We won't going again.

My mum and I happened to stumble across the Stump Inn after a drive around from Howarth looking for somewhere which served food. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. We ordered steak pie, chips and peas. Wow !! It was delicious! All home made and not one bit of fat on the meat. The waiting time wasn’t long. Reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend!!

I stayed here for one night on my own as was visiting family in Nearby Halifax I didn't want the most basic accommodation such as the old Post Office but also didn't want to shell out over one hundred pounds to spend one night.I originally booked a single room but it was too chilly in there and I asked for another room,Matthew the manager or owner helped me out kindly and gave me the Anne Walker suite, which is a large room with big double bed and separate compact bathroom with shower which worked fine. The room had a lovely warm radiator plus a plug in oil heated radiator so the room was toasty warm! I didn't use the tv or tea and coffee making kit.The room was clean but not spotless but it was fine for me and the bedding was clean.I had a couple of drinks downstairs in the bar area of the pub and a bar meal of jacket potato with salad,it was delicious I think it was the best jacket potato I've ever had! Well presented and with lots of melted cheese and lots of tasty salad.and only cost £6.50 ish.On this night which was a Wednesday there was a regular quiz night which was free and a lot of locals mostly elderly were there and they were friendly and welcoming to me as I joined in.Breakfast is £12 extra which consists of a hot drink and a delicious quality cooked English breakfast very tasty,I think it could be enhanced by serving cereals and fruit juice.I definitely intend to stay again! And soon.id advise solo patrons to pay the extra £15 or so and book a double room! You get what you pay for! If you want five star luxury that is fine but you'll get it elsewhere at a premium price. Thanks again to Matthew for helping me get a room replacement.
