I was at this hotel 2 weeks ago. I loved the location. The Charles Dickens room was charming. The old building required the toilet squeezed in one corner and the shower in a sort of closet. No one ever came to tidy my room. I didn't care. There were plenty of towels. The stairs in the old building were a bit challenging for an older lady to get her suitcases down the morning I left as no one was around. If you want cozy and character, I recommend the Sun Hotel.

Had a lovely romantic stay, the staff were really friendly and told us some history and gave us a tour of the hotel when we came in which was so nice. Our room had a jacuzzi and lovely beams and a really nice view of Canterbury. Location and breakfast was excellent and had real luxurious vibes for a good rate so definitely good value for money โœจ

Very nice hotel with a lot of history and perfectly located in the city center.

Can be a bit noisy in the evening though as Canterbury is lively and true windows are single glazed due to grade 1 listing. But if you go out in the evening and enjoy yourselves then problem solved.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The history of the place is fascinating and there is a lovely little tapas restaurant just underneath the hotel.

Friendly, warm,charming,historic
Very hospitable and helpful.
Room was lovely, bed very comfortable. Plenty of tea coffee all complimentary. Towels, bedding provided also a fan (got warm) hairdryer and tv with usual freeview channels. Everyone friendly and warm. Quick history of the grade 2 listed building, jacuzzi bath. Clean throughout, will definitely be visiting again this time taking my daughter. I don't think the hotel is wheelchair accessible which is a shame however with strict controls on listed buildings this is not in the owners control. Access to hotel is via the restaurant just look for the El Sol sign.

Super location, close to the cathedral and the city centre. We had booked the room with the whirlpool bath, but unfortunately the power supplying it seemed to trip and the bath no longer worked properly which was a bit disappointing.

We loved our experience at the Sun Hotel so much that we came back for round two! This is a really charming hotel where youโ€™re welcomed as part of the family. You get a beautiful cooked breakfast and the restaurant El Sol downstairs is an absolute 10/10. This is a definite must stay if youโ€™re in the Canterbury area! I can safely say weโ€™ll be back the next time weโ€™re in Canterbury ๐Ÿ™‚
