A warm reception from Tom on our arrival. Taken to a spacious room, extremely comfortable. The meal in the evening at the bar was fabulous only beaten by a delightful breakfast. Staff all helpful and friendly. Service efficient too. For added interest time has been taken to share a little bit of history of this unique venue.
All in all a good recommendation from our son. Will stay again without hesitation.

Second stay at The Sun Inn and just as good as the first. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The rooms was clean and spacious and well appointed. We stayed on a busy Saturday night, the bar was busy and there was a wait for food to be served, which was explained and was expected so no problem. Few beers taken whilst we waited. Food was very good. The room we had overlooked the rear beer garden and there was some noise (to be expected) from outside whilst trying to get of to sleep (for one of us, the other had some magic sleeping potion). Good nights sleep, a lie in before a pre ordered Full English and Garden English breakfast which were both freshly prepared and some of the best we've had.

Outstanding in every aspect. From the welcoming, helpful staff, to the excellent room and lovely food and drink, this will be my go-to for Lancaster stays from now on. Stayed 3 nights for a recent trip and could not have picked a better place. The location is perfect for most town-based activities, being a short walk to most places. The vibe is very laid back, being possibly the most relaxed place I've ever stayed! It's an old building, so accessibility is not perfect, but the rooms were great. A good size, clean, extremely comfortable bed and a very solid shower. Everything you could want at these prices. Proper keys, so don't lose them! The breakfast menu is limited but delicious. The full English was very good. And as for the pub part? As good, if not better than you'd hope. Great drink, great atmosphere. A brilliant place to stay. Highly recommend.

Lovely room. Bed was comfy and the shower, excellent. Be careful of the hot water!
Breakfast had a wide range to choose from and was delicious.
We had quite a few drinks in the bar and all the staff were very pleasant, respectful and helpful. Great beer garden too.
We ate in the bar. We had the Smorgasbord and it was worth every penny.
We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was such a good find. Stayed on Friday 9th may for a short break away. Staff were so friendly and helpful, service was great, room super clean, comfy bed, good range of drinks and biscuits, good shower, breakfast was so nice and a lovely beer garden to sit and relax. We even got a room upgrade, the express check in and out is great to use, saves time if needed. Went by train and only a short walk from the station, great location to walk into the town centre. Would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be staying again 👍

Staff were wonderful, very helpful. (Waiter was excellent, unfortunately didn't get his name to say thank you!!) Rooms tidy and clean.
Ate at the pub for dinner then breakfast; very nice food and good service.

My Father-in-Law loves staying at the Sun Inn and we love joining him for food! Had a Full English this morning which was exceptional, wonderfully presented, and very tasty. Tom our server was really welcoming and lovely too 😊 we'll be back!

Lovely hotel bar and restaurant in the heart of Lancaster. We were there for a mixed business and pleasure trip and the reception and service was well balanced for both purposes. Great burger, fantastic pie, and an excellent selection of beer behind the bar. Friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. Highly recommend!
