What a lovely place. As we were there for a.weddi g expecting hiked prices and mediocre food we were pleasantly surprised how good everything was. Ample portions of very good food, fresh veg. I was very happily surprised and plenty to go around the table. The evening buffet was great too, not what you'd expect at all, so nice, fresh well made and good choices. Then breakfast, I was happily surprised again, such tasty sausages not just fried frozen like you'd get at a normal bulk made buffet breakfast bar.
I'll be back for more! Compliments to the Chef (all of them)
Drink prices! Again I was so happy when a round was a third of the price I was expecting and didn't increase every hour!
Thank you for hosting a lovely wedding venue.

Stayed here for a wedding anniversary break. We wanted a hotel with a spa and not too far from home. The spa itself is very well equipped. Husband had 3.5 hours to use the various facilities including sauna, steam room, relaxation. I had treatments with lovely Eleanor. The products are lovely. We booked a hot tub room, with the tub on a private terrace. It’s overlooked by the rooms above but who cares? At our age we won’t be skinny dipping! The room itself is clean, with all the amenities you need. Yes, the furniture could do with updating and the lamps are horrible! But it’s warm and comfortable. We’d definitely come back.

Meal for 5 family members. Food was lively, service was the best we have had anywhere in a long time! Lovely decor. Cocktails were superb. Only disappointment were the desserts. The brownie was 4 times the amount you needed and the syrup sponge was too big plus I've never had a chewy sponge before. Not my cup of tea personally. Overall Lovely meal had by all just remember meals are large portions.

This spa consists of an outdoor jacuzzi, an indoor plunge pool & cold shower, a small steam room and sauna. There is another room but we didn’t pay for that experience. It was £50 each for 3 hours. We had lunch whilst there, as a more limited menu is provided. |Points knocked off for tepid Jacuzzi and sauna. A few off the guests we engaged with commented on the fact that neither were hot enough, or as hot as expected. The steam room was the hottest place to be and we had been on a cold hike prior and really wanted to be warm. A private area to change would’ve been nice. I appreciate I had the “small plate” dish of gluten free mushrooms on toast (£8) but gluten free bread is the size of a postage stamp and I had to ask for another piece because even for a sandwich you expect 2 pieces of bread not one. They did bring one but it was too late for my toppings as I’d eaten it in 4 seconds. We didn’t think there was an option of a side order of chips on this menu or I would’ve had it. I would say it all looked clean though to end on a positive! Wouldn’t rule out returning. It’s more like a mini spa experience and I did say we could’ve got a guest pass for a gym that wouldn’t been a similar experience.

We have just returned from a lovely 3-night stay here. Before we went, I noticed some quite negative reviews which concerned me a bit, but I had nothing to worry about. Our room was very acceptable with a whirlpool bath, although it was quite warm at times. All the staff without exception were very friendly and welcoming. The lady who seemed to be in charge at dinner on 30/9 and 1/10 deserves a special mention, although I didn't get her name. The food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the steak and ale pie and the fish and chips, and the portions were a good size. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that we were on a deal which included 2 courses at dinner and we had to have a starter and a main and I would have preferred a main and a dessert.

Sunday lunch at the 3 Horseshoes was lovely. Nice friendly staff (and there was enough of them to make us feel attended) who were very accommodating. We found out it was a wedding fair, although didn't affect the service. Carvery was very good, everything hot and a good selection of food, kept neat and looking tidy (unlike other carvery chains).
Looking g forward to going back.

Could be so much better.

Used the pub for food and drinks for 4 evenings over the last week while staying at the nearby caravan site. Family stayed at the hotel for 4 nights.

Accommodation - Hotel part and room really nice and clean with no noise disturbance from pub or function room.

Pub - Let down by ether lazy or incompetent staff. Always a queue at the bar with only one person serving intermittently. Menu is limited. One evening the side order was brought to the table a full 10 mins before any of the mains, so was cold by the time the rest of the food came out.

I queried it with the waitress who said she'd go and find out what happened, even though it was her who had served both. She didn't come back until it was time to clear the tables. I asked her again and she said they were ready earlier so they got brought to the table, before turning away!
